I'd delete the front and rear passenger (side) seats, put in a flat platform, while leaving the rear drivers side seat for the wife.

Get rid of her!!! I mean come on, I don't know why guys think they need these things. They're expensive, keep you up all night, leave hair everywhere, and keep you form staying out all night. Plus, if you get rid of her, you'll no longer have to look at a Gladiator and you'll have more time with Xena! ;)

Either way you gotta a lot of love in your vehicle. Great looking bunch of furry kids you got. I lost my pride several months ago and it still stings. He was only 8 years young. Frank was my mountain bike and hiking buddy. He was a beast - he climbed hills like a mountain goat and ran like a horse. I am super envious of you and your Everglades. Ordered my Everglades back in September and still waiting for it to arrive. Here is my guy and I miss him terribly. Have a safe trip.

I've been wavering and vacillating on a decision of late and having a bit of an argument with my Dutch Shepherd, Xena. I thought, why not take to the Internet, to an obviously biased group, and ask for an opinion. So, here it goes. I have a newly acquired 2024 Bronco Everglades and my wife has a 2023 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon ecodiesel. Xena and I are about to embark on a 1300 mile drive from Orlando to New Hampshire and then back. She, the dog, wants to take the Bronco. She enjoys the room that the seat down rear provides when she isn't sitting upright in the passenger seat. The Jeep back seat is okay but no real room to stretch out. She also prefers the relative smoothness that the IFS provides on the highway v. the solid front axle hunt and bounce from the Gladiator. Finally, she thinks that the option of 4A would be better on this trip considering the weather forecast and likely rain. That option doesn't exist in the Gladiator. My counter to her is the 26+ mpg that the Gladiator gets out of the diesel v. the 16 mpg in the Bronco. If you are so inlclined to pontificate and opine on the topic, please let us know if you have driven both vehicle models and what your pros and cons are. Thank you in advance. Oh, and Xena is the one on the left in the photo. The Corgi, and Ares, the German, are staying home for this one.

We just sold our 2020 Jeep Gladiator Sport S. It’s a beautiful JT. We only did it because my husband bought a 2024 Chevy Bison with Duramax Diesel Engine. And let me tell you a $84k truck payment isn’t cheap. I would have rather kept the JT. Too much truck for me!!!! The Bronco has a much smoother comfortable ride. Mileage not too good. If it’s a long joyous trip, I’d rather be in comfort forget the gas. Go have fun. More room for Xena!! 😁

Keep your foot out of the verticle pedal on the right and you should get a decent mileage out of the Everglades. I can get 17 out of my Badlands, and I am on 37's. Well I am on a lot of stuff, but still....

I would go with a smoother ride and more room. The pennies on the dollar you save on gas are not worth not having the comfort the Bronco offers for you and Xena. Take the Bronco.

I’ve driven my wrangler and my gladiator over 4500 miles round trip, no issues. The gladiator drove so nice (had an overland model), almost as nice as the bronco. Wrangler not so much. I’d take the gladiator (and I only own a bronco at this time). I sometimes miss my gladiator, never miss the wrangler.

Guess it matters if being cheap or comfortable is more important to you…Bronco for me…but my wife keeps me in the lifestyle I have grown accustomed…

Are you going 85 mph to get 16 mpg on the highway? My 4 dr BD SAS 2.3 would get 20 mpg at 70 mph.

Gladiator will save you some money. Bronco will make your trip MUCH more enjoyable and less stressful. (I just traded a Gladiator for the Bronco)

Here’s an idea….. swap the eco-diesel into the Bronco! Turn the Gladiator bed into a trailer and scrap the rest lol

I have a Bronco Badlands, and a Gladiator Sport S (Though Not Diesel)... both on 37's, and both over 40,000 miles now.

The Gladiator is the best riding Jeep I've owned, it really is night and day difference from a Wrangler, and I wouldn't hesitate to go 1300 miles in it...

That said, the Bronco is more comfortable, and the steering on the highway is light years better.

Finally, If you're taking the wife, and a Pupper, everyone is gonna be happier in the Bronco, take the Everglades.

It's all about the company you keep, MPG wise. I was with my friend of 45 years and driving from Moab and the difference was either going faster and saving over two hours, plus missing even more traffic because of the time of day getting into town, stretching it out even longer, probably almost 4 hours. Or, an extra tank of fuel to get home sooner from a 800+ mile drive, I decided to get home faster, 15.6 MPG.

With a new female friend going to desert for her first time wheeling and using the time to get to know each other, I got 19 MPG for the hwy (round) trip, another 30 minutes and I could have gotten 20 MPG.
