Hey guys looking into ditch lights and have been reading the forums seeing lots of cool options. I do a bunch of rural woods road driving where I live with deer and etc so ditch lights seem like a good investment. Couple questions for the hive. I see a bunch of people running dual 3” pods on each side or single 4” pods is there a big difference between the two setups? Also is there any reason people don’t run huge lights like the LP6s or etc on the pillars? Also open to any recommendations or setups y’all are rocking, I do have aux switch’s. Thanks!

I’ve run the Rigid 3x4 DSS series on my last 3 vehicles and have been very satisfied. Great forward light projection plus the side light projection is excellent. I live in an area with very dark rural mountain roads and have been extremely satisfied with the quality and performance. I also have them on my SxS.

I'm curious too. I'm thinking about the Baja Designs S2 Pro with Wide Cornering lenses aimed off to the side.

I run 2 pair of the Rough Country OSRAM LED wide angle series. One pair up on the a-pillar and a pair on top corners of the bumper. A little lower cost, very bright, and the wide angle is my main reason.

Some of the reviews on HF say they get a lot of wind noise from the cooling fins.

They do whistle pretty good at certain speeds.

I just put on some iron maiden to drown it out 🙂

LP6 is overkill for a ditch light IMHO. I run LP4’s instead, but also considered the XL80’s from BD.

The round ones look a 1000x better on a retro vehicle IMO, but everyone has their own taste. I went with single Rigid Ford Performance ones using a 25% code, seemed cheaper than most quality ones. 3" is all I need for spotting deer in the ditches. Might want to check with @flip, he had lights on clearance.

Which ones do you recommend? Were you using the 4” ones?
