Does anyone put plastic restorer like C-4 on their fender flares or mudflaps? Or is my OCD overthinking this.

McGuires Back to Black, worked really well for stains in the past on previous cars.

I put Griot's Ceramic 3in1 last fall and haven't had any problems just hosing off the salt and grit from this winter with no staining.

This is a horrific silicone dressing that will not benefit the fenders.

Also, @KingCakeKid this topic has come up a few times over jumerous other apecific threads and aside from 303, which works okay as a surface protectsnt, there has been some great restoration and protection products shared.

Use the search function and you'll find answers to your question.

Thanks, thats good to know. I haven't used it either way on my Bronco, but it worked well for restoring window dressing and other plastic/rubber trim on neglected cars in the past.

I haven't had the same staining issues i've seen with some users here. There seems to be a plethora of methods that work well, I have had good results with the ceramic/wax hybrids that have come out recently; Ive been able to just hose off road brine and its looks good as new.

303 Protectant has served me well and it is relatively cheap.

I've used it on a ten year old soft tonneau cover and it brought it back to new.
I use this product as well on my fender flares. Works really well IMO, and doesn’t leave them greasy.

Chemical Guys VRP! It wiill remove any stains and protect them as well.

It's readily available, won't break the bank, and good for multiple surfaces inside and out. It's really awesome stuff.

Apply with a toothbrush, or similar soft bristled brush, to remove the stains. You won't be disappointed!

Oh dang, that looks squeaky clean and shiny, very nice!!

I wonder though, do we dare put it on our hard tops?
I would if I had one. It creates a slippery surface. I thought it would be great against bird poop.

I’m late here, I know, but that stuff is a ceramic coating (mild) and is fine for a hard top, but you may want to look into a more long lasting product. Ceramic coating that top is basically risk free, just do it in the garage when off of the truck or in the shade, not while attached in case you drip.

This product is more for trim and fenders and should last for months per application. Once per year shouldn’t be out of the question.
