Draw-tite 4500/675lb hitch install without removing bumper

Can get away with more relatively safely with a weight distributing hitch imo. Long boat trailer or my 4100lb truck on a tow dolly at conservative speeds. Might be zero difference before the hitch or frame crossmember fails but at least my hitch is certified for it. Might try it some day or might never tow anything

Thank you for the write up and photos. I ordered my Draw-Tite 76605 through a Walmart link.

This Walmart option did NOT come with hardware so you’ll need to buy your own. Picked up some 4” long grade 8 bolts as OP recommended. The clearance is tight but plenty of thread when you get down to the torque step. I can see where 4 1/2” bolts might make it so you need to remove the bumper. With the 4” you don’t need to remove the bumper.

Can't you order the Factory hitch cheaper? Maybe use some points and get it for free.

Besides...the hitch isn't the issue.. it's that weaker frame bar it's bolted to.

You want a strong hitch, you need one that mounts to the outside frame railing.
