Well my brand new 2025 Bronco Big Bend Black Edition 2.3 with 1727 miles had to be towed to dealer last week. Dead in the water inside my garage. Was able to get it towed with Ford Assistance to my local dealer, Corwin Ford Reno Nevada. Day four and the dealer still doesn't know what the problem is. Guess Ford hasn't figured this one out yet. Interesting since it has been happening since 2021. No simple fix on this one. Dealer basically tearing it apart to try and find the problem. Just a heads up to be aware if you are planning to buy a 2025. I will follow up when(if) they figure it out.

Shit.

Also, thanks for the heads-up.

I know it’s a dumb question but I have to ask, did you touch the key to the bottom of the center console to re-establish the connection?
Hasn’t happened to me but I didn’t know this procedure was a thing. Guess I need to reread the whole manual.

Just checked mine. I never noticed the slot because it’s hiding under the rubber liner at the bottom.

Yeah, tried the slot and some other things on the boards. No luck.

I honestly believe it is our own fault, as a society. I DOWNLOADED all of our owner's manuals for our current vehicles because none of them came with a physical one, and I actually ENJOY going through them to learn what my vehicle can and cannot do. I have always gone through the owner's manuals for everything that comes with one - there's a lot of good information in there.

But when a majority of this country can't even read at a 6th grade level, and doesn't bother to read on a daily basis...of course corporations are going to stop printing something that the vast majority of their buyers simply throw away. They don't have to spend the money on paper, so it's a win for them.

It's amazing what information you can find in your owner's manual...if you go through it.

I had it happen when stopped for gas. Pumped gas and got in to leave when the dreaded message came up. Put key in the super secret spot and Bronco started up. Went about my day without another problem. Next day stopped at same station and it happened again. Since we were attending Super Celebration West in BV I asked a couple of the Bronco Nation peeps. They had never heard of it happening. What I later figured out was it had something to do with the gas stations cameras outside. I have never had it happen again. I have not been back to this same station for fuel since then so there is that as well.

This happens on all four of my Ford vehicles (be it keyed fob or keyless) at least once per month. Even while the vehicle is running (and even while driving)!

I have no idea why, but all I do is press the lock button on the fob and then the unlock button and the message disappears (until next time).

Freaked me out the first time it happened. Now I've come to expect it.

I just had this happen to me in my '24 BD yesterday. I just opened and closed the door, took the key out of my pocket and all was good. Is this that common an issue?
