Golly I hope I am over-reacting and being paranoid, but in my experience with vehicles, I rarely am...

Bronco hit 1800 miles recently and suddenly its making an odd fluttering sound when accelerating - seems to be correlated to the RPM's.

It borderline sounds like a leaf is stuck in a fan blade - however I checked and I see no leaves or other debris anywhere in the engine bay.

Video of the sound below - it becomes very prominent at about 12 seconds into the video. make sure your speakers are cranked as its hard to record from inside the cabin.

Does anyone's Bronco sound like this while under acceleration? Any idea what this could be?

Another note; I've noticed when I initially start the truck she idles at 1.2k RPM - is that standard?

I dont hear anything that scares me. Never had turbo though.

Could just be valve noise, my accord is noisy, runs great

I can't hear anything weird with headphones on and the volume cranked. If you've experienced any power loss I would chase down a possible boost leak. That's more of a whooshing sound, though.

Fluttering from a turbo engine is usually just the sound of the wastegate. That video sounded normal to me. The engine sound of the 2.3 is way louder than the 2.7 in cabin too.

Last bronco has exhaust leak, could be your flubbing sound.

Yes I do remote start while putting on my shoes and let it idle down to 800 RPM before pulling away. After warm it’ll go into what I call Stealth Mode where it idles silently at 500 RPM in drive thrus, longer stoplights and whatnot. I assume this is all normal.

Easy things to check for vacuum leaks: worm clamps on intake, intercooler piping and wastegate/BOV.

Warm-up idle being high: Yes, this is standard for modern small displacement automobiles as there are emissions requirements. That is the ECU tuning doing it's job to heat up the catalytic converter as quickly as possible as they don't function while cold.

It's getting cold out. Could be butterflies hibernating in the air box?

I can hear a slight rattling noise. Maybe give the turbo heat shield a look (when the car is cool, of course). Have you added any modifications - air intake, exhaust?
