Thank goodness Antimatter Gray is gone. I hope that this trend in the industry of, "Shiny Primer", colors, as I call them, is dying. I can't believe those even took off! That green is stunning!

Perhaps the same person who came up with 'gotta have it green' for the Mustang.Hate to see AMB go but Iām fine with the green. But āEruptionā green? Who came up with that? Gotta think that the new colors for MY ā23 will be Squirt Yellow, Projectile Purple, and Montezuma Brown.
At 19 days and 5 posts, it doesn't seem you have what it takes to get a Bronco. Most here reserved over a year ago and are still waiting. I agree coming back in a couple of years will be a far better and easier experience. That's it I'm tapping out. I'll revisit Ford Bronco in 4 or 5 years, maybe. I had just about every deadly sin possible but the killer was the painted top for which I was not willing to compromise. I was pushed out to MY23. Like it or not I spent weeks trying to decide on color and had settled in for Rapid Red, and ultimately placed my order and laid down a $1000 dollar deposit. That's it, I'm pulling the plug. I was a day one reservation holder, bit for anyone thinking my departure will move them up in the line, well as I stated I was MY23 given my requirements. Good luck everybody!
@PREMiERdrum would know the answer to this. That's not how this works. The bodies are dipped in an undercoat primer bath. Top coat color is sprayed onto the body on a moving assembly line by robots. Paint a red vehicle, clear the guns, paint a white vehicle, clear the guns, paint what ever color is next.
The whole paint system is dependent on a manifold system that selects the paint color. There are only so many feeds that manifold hardware in the paint shop. No way to add more colors.
Its not clear to me on how many manifold feeds Michigan Assembly plant has... I know there are 12 paint colors on the 2021 Bronco, but if I had to guess, there are only 11 paint manifolds. (the outlier is the Lightning Blue on the First Edition... My guess is they batch build those and swap paint feeds for that...) Note, that 11 number is a total guess by me... I'm sure somebody who works in that plant will know the actual number.
But yeah, you just can't add more paint colors to the total.
Can you imagine??? Ah, the good ole days...Someone mentioned max 12 color capability on the new Bronco, due to the current factory paint equipment capability. In contrast, I was just looking at the 1977 Bronco color offerings, apparently 20 were offered! Any factory guys left from 1977 to give Ford a hand?

I would expect an all black leather at least.I wonder What the new interior colors are?
Does anyone think this was a typo and was meant to read "widely available"?When and where? In the tweet he said "wildly available" and refused to commit to all packages..
Willdly available means, not on the Base, probably not on the Big Bend.
Just taking a guess here, but I doubt things were very automated back then. A real live employee probably did the painting and have more flexibility than what's allowed now.Someone mentioned max 12 color capability on the new Bronco, due to the current factory paint equipment capability. My dealer had one of these on the lot when my Sister was buying a new vehicle. To me, it looks close to Rapid Red with a little more pop.Went and searched out a Chili Pepper red Ranger today to look at it in person.
I mean, Iām not in love with it, but not in love with any of the colors 100%.
it literally has the cinnamon-y, burnt orangish-red of chili powder in the shade. Not horrible but considerably less āredā than I imagined from pics.
In the sun it is pretty cool, and itās on my radar now.
Itās the same ambiguous ānot yellow, not orangeā of CO, same ānot black, not blue, not purpleā of AMB. Same ānot grey not green, not blueā of Cactus G. They definitely know how to mindfk someone with nailing down a color!!
a few pics from today, FWIW.
Seems appropriate. Eruption suggests volcanos and mountains. The places a Bronco is likely to be seen. If this same color was on a Lincoln, it would an elite sounding name.seriously, they passed on EVERGLADES for ERUPTION?
