I imagine myself overlanding through the wilderness over rocks and mud and living off the land in my Bronco.

Reality is that’ll probably never happen. I will be using it on the beach a lot though.

What’s your expectation vs reality?

I expect to get mine and enjoy the hell out of it. What everyone else thinks doesn’t matter.

I expect to use my Bronco like I do my Jeep. Light off road, long road trips where we can turn down any side/dirt road we want, but mostly daily driving. We aren't mudders, or rock crawlers by any means.

Being slowly beaten to death getting to remote and hard to get to construction sites with the occasional foray onto some light trails and maybe an off-road park from time to time. So I guess my expectations will be my reality.

I’m right there with you. If I see a trail that looks manageable I’ll explore!

We never thought we would enjoy doing things like that until we bought our Jeep. And we bought the Jeep to play with until the Bronco arrives. We figured no use waiting, just find out if we would enjoy adventures like these before we ordered the Bronco.

I sure hope to take it out on trails, sadly there's not much really close in the Bay Area as far as I know, so it'll always be a weekend trip that has to be planned around the kids schedule and other things. I will explore backroads I've never driven here in the area, music on and roof off and then hopefully get to the mountains or up north a couple times a year.
My kid is graduating high school this year, their class motto is "Adventure Awaits" and I'm just gonna take that for myself too.

One trip I hope I can do (if I get mine not too late in summer) is up to Mono lake and then over to Lone Pine, hit some side trails in that area, visit a ghost town or two.

Someday I'll drive all the way to Moab, but not this year.

I want to do a bunch of short road trips like a few days, but not on main roads. I only have to work 3 days a week so if I make my schedule right I can have a decent amount of days off without taking a vacation.

My current truck has more mud inside than out right now, so with a washout interior maybe my reality is cleanliness.
