Well, it finally happened today, but not from a rock or stress, just heat. Woke up this morning to a cracked windshield.

Looks like two more cracks starting from the same area!

Next I noticed the trim behind the hood is popping up while under normal speeds, never had removed it, so not user induced. I noticed it because it got caught up while opening hood and it got munched. Guess I'm headed to the dealership tomorrow :(

Dang on the windshield. Sorry to see that happen. That sounds like something under the windshield surround might be putting some pressure/stress on the edge of the glass. Hope Ford covers that under warranty.

The dealership is probably going to fight you on the windshield and say a rock did it or make some other shit up just go in prepared

Was it parked someplace where the sun was reflected and focused on that part of the Bronco?

(in MA, windshield replacements are covered for free under vehicle insurance, so at least we don't have to pay... might be worth checking to see if your insurance covers glass if the warranty doesn't)

USAA's got me covered if Ford does not come through.

They can try, but there is zero evidence of that. This happened sometime this morning just sitting there.

You're just up the road from me. Sorry this happened. I wonder if the issue with the trim is somehow related to the stress that was put on your windshield. Good luck, man.

Looking at it closer, seems it could be a flaw in the seal having too much stress at that point. It was only 65º and drizzling this morning, so my bad for assuming heat. It was not there however as of 7 pm yesterday. and not driven in between. Like ol' Gus Grissom said "It just blew".

Something similar happened to my Mustang when I first got it. Except in my case I did have a small rock chip I hadn't noticed. It was a warm day, took it through the car wash and as soon as the first drops hit, a huge crack appeared across my windshield. Again, in my case I had a chip; but in your case it looks like the stress you mention along with some rain might just be the cause.

Haha. Did you park it in the sun? is the new Did you wax your top?

I'll probably park in the shade for a while just to be safe. . .
