Freep: Delay due to Bronco removable top supplier issue

I read elsewhere that these roofs are being built by, and shipped from, a supplier in China. Why the hell do we need to make these in China? I’d tell this supplier, “sorry, we’re just going to go ahead and build these roofs here in the States.”
Clearly I know nothing about running an international, multi-supplier manufacturing conglomerate...
But still...

the wildtrak and first edition were the only ones that came with a hard top. Clearly ford didn’t want to go with just a soft top.

I just went back and saw (for the first time) your post from 3-1/2 hours ago stating these were made in the US. Ok. But the issue still stands that this is a piss-poor performance by a supplier that has had how many months — years? — to sort this shit out.

A lot happened within eight hours...

An exchange on Bronco6g.com included a comment from "Mike" in upstate New York posted immediately after the company acknowledged the delay on Dec. 4: "If top production is causing the delay, Ford can build my Bronco first and ship it topless. I’ll worry about getting the top when winter comes."

Well, someone should at least let @Mike20 know that he's been qouted! There goes part of that 15 minutes of fame!

Maybe they need to put the top plant in WV. We work right through the virus and get shit done. Black tops, white tops, body colored tops, no problem. We aim to please. Put the plant on the abandoned strip mine near Stephens Ford. Just install them on the topless bronco's as they roll in to Stephens.
