That connector looks good but I'm concerned about the silver contacts, however the connector looks similar to the Warn and Bulldog ones. Those do not list the contact type of finish. The safest bet is the standard boaters trick, always coat all your electrical connector pins and connections with dielectric grease, including 4 and 7 pin trailer light connectors or winch connectors. Otherwise, moisture will tarnish the contacts and you will lose electrical connection or reduce your amperage due to resistance.

Maybe. From the technical end you are far more in touch than I am. I was mostly on the "Make sure you use some "robust" large current capacity connectors on each end of your truck. That way you can put your winch on both sides". (y)

That's an ATV winch connector at only 50A. The ones you want for a winch are the Anderson 350A.

I rewired my Tigershark 9500 with 2/0AWG and ran that all the way to the battery as well as converting the battery terminal to 1/0AWG with a KnuKonceptz terminal adapter.

There are covers for them, so you can dielectric grease the contacts and protect them with a cover.

Ensuring as little current drop as possible with a 1/0AWG short run to a Knu Konceptz terminal converter.

FINALLY - a sensible human. Now just put this connector on the front and back:

Did the 175 Anderson connectors. Modified a 1/0 AWG jumper cable set. It’s not permanently mounted at the front and rear, but the new plug under the hood is ready for the extension cable any time I need to connect a front or rear winch or inverter/deep cycle battery.

I was going to use dielectric grease, then I read that Anderson specifies a white lithium grease. I am sure either would be better than nothing.

Double check the source of that Anderson white lithium grease recommendation.

White lithium grease is normally for the hitch ball.

Dielectric Grease is for electrical connections.

I actually did just that on my XJ... Installed a front hitch for either the winch or a bike rack. Worked out good..the main issue was simple that I had to plan ahead to hook it up. So those last minute explorations or trying to help someone else when needed didn't work out because my winch was (and still is) sitting in the garage.
This is exactly what is concerning me now that I mounted my new winch to the hitch mount. It’s working great on the rear receiver; I used it to move a huge rock in the woods on my property. I will have to plan ahead for off roading and toss it in the back. I would never drive with it installed, since it would get hung up on obstacles. Do you just hope that where you get stuck, there is clearance in the front or rear to slide the winch into the receiver?
For this reason, I want to mount a front receiver as high as possible. I ditched my design to fabricate a receiver u set the bumper. I will hope for an aftermarket mount above the bumper, or integrated into a tube bumper, or consider modifying my bumper to make it possible.

Problem is when you go off-roading, you typically don't have any room to throw 120 lb winch "in the back". So basically when I was going to off-road on purpose, I would install the winch in the front hitch. Of course one of the issues is that it's stuck out so far almost ran into something when I parked in a parking lot once (not used to it being there)

Now everyone's loadout is different, but by time you start throwing some gear in the back, a ice chest or fridge, really starts to eat into your cargo room.

The nice thing about a front hitch mounted winch is that it sticks out so far that with it installed you will be bashing it into things long before it lets you get into a situation where you would actually need a winch.
Can't be much different than most of the Hapsburg looking bumpers out there that add a foot to the entire front end.
