Yeah, "sleep platform" is a bit misleading. But pushing passenger seat all the way up and an kickout floor platform will get you another foot. Then lay diagonally....?
Or... This is the perfect setup for hauling solo with your dog (with a RTT)

How it normally goes: You just spent $2.5K for a RTT, plus another $1K on the goose platform to fit a dog kennel. Yet somehow the $80 tent was just too far outside the operational budget!*.


*assuming you had all the same sleeping gear expenses between for either RTT or actual tent camping

How would you get any street cred with all your insta-gram followers if you actually used something functional and can't be seen with a big logo on it? It's not very "influencer" to set up a tent (although seems to be pretty prolific here in Seattle)

How about moving passenger seat up and folded foward all the way - does that allow a comfortable sleeping position???

Was about to post about the table but saw I'm a little late on the news

I like the tailgate table but I dont get the plate? Its wood so I wouldnt call it a plate. So you lose your tie down loops and gain very nice peg board. I would be more interested if it was raised to match the seats folded and had a thin storage compartment.
But i do like the table. I just recently saw a Bronco storage area and thought the factory floor was quite nice.

That is very nice. Making drawers for it I assume? If you do I learned a trick on my shop toolbox that a piece of wood across the opened tops of double drawers makes a nice table. You could have a piece cut to fit that you toss in when you might be tailgating or camping. Looks great!

I like the idea of the double folding top because if you make it just high enough to be flush with the seats, it's not really thick enough to put drawers in it. With that idea you can actually make it much taller, get some decent drawers in it, and then if you do want to sleep, you can drop the seats and flip the thing back.

Maybe some hybrid of this because the fridge slider is going to take up one of the sides.

So when you measure the inside of the drawer, how tall are they? Meaning what's the largest height object you can stick in there and still shut the drawer?

They are about 3” High useable. I could have squeezed a little bit (1/2”) more if I was really trying. They are each about 17 1/2 x 17 1/2. I wanted to make the overall height so that the platform sits dead flat.
