I’ve been thinking of ways the hardtop could be reinforced to prevent cracking under the weight of roof racks and RTTs..

And I found this awesome product by JCR: https://www.jcroffroad.com/product/BR6MT-RP.html
Takes some stress off the fiberglass and transfers some load to the roll bar. No need to drill. Only works on 4-door, but 2-door wouldn’t be too difficult to make.

Jeeps have several awesome products by GoRhino like this:

Would you consider drilling? For peace of mind, I would gladly drill my hardtop if it means I could direct mount my ZROADZ rack to my roll bar.

I bought the JCR ones. Happy with the fit and install.

Did you notice any gaps around the middle roof panel and top of the window seals after the install?

I installed the JCR reinforcement brackets and there is a gap in what appears to be where the support should be.

I too am considering connecting the roof rack directly too the roll cage similar to the JL. It seems like most of the weight is riding on the middle bracket.

What did you end up doing? Any additional reinforcement?

I haven't done anything yet, still waiting on more aftermarket options for the 2-door.

Have you tried adding a few large washers? I bet that would help the fit

I will update this thread once I get my final design complete in the next couple of weeks.
