Has Anyone successfully installed a hidden winch in a 2.7 Bronco

As the title states, as anyone done this yet?

If so, what had to be done?

I took my skid plate off last weekend and it looks like a heat exchanger is exactly where you would want a winch, but I couldn't see anywhere that the exchanger could be relocated.

Looking for the modification experts who have completed this mod to chime in.

Any help would be appreciated.

I do not believe he has posted install pics - but you can ping him. It has been stated by a Ford engineer that there is no 'special' reason for the cooler to be where it is, so it could be moved. Then you are in the same boat as a bunch of us who have installed a hidden winch

I do not believe he has posted install pics - but you can ping him. It has been stated by a Ford engineer that there is no 'special' reason for the cooler to be where it is, so it could be moved. Then you are in the same boat as a bunch of us who have installed a hidden winch

Thanks, but unfortunately the 2.3L is not the same as the 2.7L as the cooler is in the way on the 2.7.

Wow good to see someone figured it out. Would love to know more about the brackets he made but based on his responses to other people we aren't getting any more info.

Just knowing that it's possible means I might end up trying it, but it'll be months before I get to it if I do at all. I've been waiting for someone to at least prove the concept.

Looks like they ended up cutting a whole in the factory skid plate, mounting the fairlead to it and tossing the RC skid away.

A bunch of us used various portions of the RC Skid. All I wanted was the tray but they wouldn’t sell that alone, so I used the front of the skid. (And yes, tossing the rest)

Hi, we're in the midst of an R&D process for a Winch Plate (not hidden) for a 2.7L BL.
Hopefully we'll wrap it up in a matter of a week and will be able to update here too!

We decided not to do it hidden as the camera, sensors and radar are all over the front bumper, we didn't want to interfere with any of them.

Pictures and more info soon to come!

Nope! Our solution aligns with all sensors and the camera.
It will be released soon (!) for the 2.7L engine only

SVC is looking into it. The difficult part is the 2.7 has a cooler in the mounting location. likely A relocation kit will be required for any hidden options.

That looks awesome- I never thought of spacing out the front bumper to get that to work. Kinda like the Warn hidden mounts on the superduty. Cool to see other people's ideas.
