Help finding post

I swear I saw a post where someone mounted their 8 in sub in the enclosure without trimming the plastic? Otherwise, I have done so much research I am delerious

I've heard there is a ring on the back of the sub you can pry off and make it fit without cutting - I didn't see that with mine (but wasn't really looking to be honest, I just YOLOed it) and ended up just cutting mine bigger though rather than take the approach the guy in the post above did. His looks easier to do, but if that mounting ring can pry off and it drops in, all the better.

There have been a handful of people who modified the subwoofer itself rather than the housing, which let the subwoofer fit without trimming the plastic. For some subwoofers you have to cut into the mounting ring, for others you just have to remove the plastic cool-looking trim ring along the outside of the mounting ring.

Then there was another individual who 3D printed an adapter to ring to allow it to fit.

And then I vaguely remember someone who managed to buy a subwoofer from Europe that fit without any modifications.

He still had to cut the plastic on his enclosure, just had to do less cutting than some of us did by offsetting the hole a bit.
