Have you blocked the lower radiator shroud as suggested by @GreyZ ?

I swapped my intercooler as well but did block that part with a piece of polycarbonate as it didnt seem right to leave it open…

In oem config air still bypass the radiator but less so than fully open with aftermarket IC.
It seems that not all 2.7s have the same radiator shroud it would be interested to see an photo of OPs from the underside.

Just curious how does yours sound and does it make a noise at various speeds? I’m hearing a high pitch roaring noise at 45 up to 55mph and then it goes away. I’m thinking my rear pinion bearing is toast.
My case was just loose diff armor luckily. Yours sounds like what you think it is though.

When you remove the stock intercooler you are left with this gaping hole that allows all of the air going through your radiator fans to bypass the radiator. image is from below, looking upwards. This means your radiator fans are effectivly doing nothing and will cause overheating.

What is the plastic piece in that picture? The bottom of the fan shroud?

This is a view of the 2.7 looking from under the bronco looking strait up towards the sky. After you remove the stock intercooler and shroud, this is the hole you're are left with. My solution was to buy this trash can from Lowe's
https://www.lowes.com/pd/MOXIE-MOXIE-UTILITY-WASTEBASKET-41QT-BLA/5014229375
I made a cardboard template and used it to cut a piece from the trash can to male a shroud to cover most of the hole at the bottom of the radiator. I then used Xmass tree fasteners to put it in place. This is the result.

It covers 90% of the hole. I will go back later and mod it to fir a bit better, But I'm not having any cooling issues at the time. I Have the Wagner high mount intercooler.

Right, but it doesn’t appear that everyone has a hole there after the fact, which is why I was asking. I’m trying to figure out what is different between certain models and I believe it’s the fan shroud.

Yeah. I saw someone elses photo and their shroud looked completely different. As if their shroud did not pull any air through the oem intercooler. But mine clearly did.

I think it was @MWILD
There does seem to be different fan/fan shrouds per model it seems. I have no idea why or which one looks like what though.

Sure enough. And the fans appear larger. This may be the first time I am stumped on the differences and why Ford would do this. It appears that the -F model is the same/very similar to the raptor shroud. It is surprising that the wildtrack did not always have the bigger shroud, but the non-sas badlands does.

Also does not appear 2.3 vs 2.7 differences.

Interesting. Good find on the pictures.
-B is no longer an option, the -J part number has now replaced that. Any chance you saw a picture of one of those?

Nice work uncovering the differences in the shrouds. For reference, this is what the B shroud looks like underneath for anyone that is curious.

This one claims to be a -J. So it appears closed. It looks like the Rangers also use these interchangeably between trims.

I printed out these and they block the opening. The front lip snaps into the rad flange, and the boss in the corners slides into the injection pocket on the rad shroud. Then a small self tapper keeps it all firmly mounted in place. I can share the files with anyone that wants to print their own.

I’ll get under my ‘23 Wildtrak with Cpe intercooler tomorrow now that it is on a lift and look, snap some pics. Then probably off to Lowe’s for a trash can or get time on a 3 D printer using those files generously offered by @GreyZ .

If anyone is interested, it looks like I can get them printed and shipped to your door for about 84$, including the mount bolts, adhesive and instructions. If you have your own printer just PM me for the files and I can send them to you.

This gap between radiator and black plastic trim I just took a photo of -

your 3D printed piece covers the whole length? (The red circled part in next pic).
