I understand the convenience of an under hood mount. I just worry that the exposure to engine heat, water intrusion and cold temps when not running will ultimately shorten the pump’s life.
Those are my concerns as well. Primarily engine heat as our bronco raptor is a daily driver. Cold doesn’t worry me as much. Maybe it should. Water intrusion and just overall dirtiness of the under hood area would definitely concern me.
however I know many use this location so it could likely be me overanalyzing.

Oooo that's all fancy-like. Lol I just toss mine in Jessabelle.
I have cheesy particle board garage cabinets that came with the house. Shelves are far too flimsy for anything heavy. All that gear (maybe 40lbs) still makes the shelf bow down some. It nice to just grab all the stuff and go without having to put any thought into it.

Recently scored a MORRFlate FIVESIX Pro and was wondering what type of bag/case everyone hauls around their portable compressor in
$25 amazon special bag… actually works well and includes tie down straps Compressor, tire kit, tool box,.

I’m going with the arb spare tire mount system. It’s expensive but it utilizes a dead space and doesn’t take up any cargo room. One less thing I have to remember to secure with tops off. Molle panel for the hose or toss it under the cargo floor. That part I haven’t decided on yet.
how much cooling air flow will you have?

Depends on if you are using the through door vent to the cargo area or leave it as is. I’d likely opt for the through door to keep dust at a minimum.
In either instance there is no engine producing heat right beside the compressor. Because I’m not adding air while in motion there is little to no cooling air flow from the front to offset the engine heat. Plus the compressor is just baking out there when it’s not running. I could be wrong but that is how it seems to be. To be clear I’m in Mississippi and it’s hot and humid most of the year outside of when we travel out west. So my concerns over heat may be more pronounced.

At the low cost of the trickflate I am not very worried about it…lot of more sensitive stuff under there…myself & folks I know have been running underhood compressors for lots of years…but you do you…

Agreed in my earlier post. Others posting here not so much…

I don’t think you are over analyzing. Your thoughts about heat , dirt and water are right on. And not just because you agree with me!

I was just using the cheap bag that came with my trickflate…now it is mounted under the hood on a Marz mount…

I keep trying to talk myself into this mount for my Morrflate. And I have the same thought as you, for the cost I'm not as worried about long-term viability. Especially compared to the price of the ARB setups with mount.

Well I have gone and done it. I was able to get a ARB single compressor and the ARB pressure control module at a VERY discounted price. Could not pas that up. So I went to AAL and purchased the mount, the wires and the pressure mount/kit and here we go.

All in all with my military discount on AAL, and the discounted ARB items, the overall cost was not so bad. Considering this is what I wanted to do anyway. Now I just need to find a nice hose system.....maybe a two-way or a 4 way? Does anybody have experience with one that is good?

Nice! I have had no problems with the Morrflate four-way system. I do recommend getting the dust covers for the hoses and their rubber slip on valve stem caps. Sounds like a silly thing but it really speeds up the process and makes it a lot easier.
