I don’t know why Ford doesn’t include release levers for these kinds of things. I had to fashion a handle (out of paracord) to release the latch of the driver side rear seat back on my F150 screw so I could get behind it and utilize the space.
There is limited need for it. Some might even say there is no need for it.

Thank you OP; while I don’t yet have my Bronco I was wondering about this. While many would not use this feature, there are a few of us who would have a hard time living without it as we want to occasionally be able to sleep back there. I’ll do a rear seat delete on my 2 door for gear and occasional sleeping. It is true that it’ll be harder to keep captives back there so we’ll need another solution for that.

If Ford included something like this it would be pretty easy to open the rear hatch with a coat hanger slipped between the glass and hatch. I wonder if doing this when the doors are locked will trip an alarm.
Yikes! This is a good point, I'd better test that out.

ACK! I have a significant design flaw. Make your loop thin enough so you can tuck it back into the trim panel. The release lever works when the doors are locked, and it didn't set off the alarm when I did it (I did have the keys on me, so that may be why). Either way, tuck that loop away to avoid tempting thieves!
Thanks to @JPye and @jdawg for asking the important questions.

The thing is though... because the whole Bronco is open means there is no need for an interior rear tailgate release. You can remove the panels on a hardtop. you can climb over the back seat and open the door. You can remove a soft top. I'm not sure it makes sense. Nice ingenuity though.

It's just more convenient, especially with the 2-door and a roof rack. Necessity isn't the only mother of invention.

I get that necessity isn't the only reason for invention but i'd be curious in what condition you'd use this.
