I have a base model 4 door. Everyone is saying they get 21 MPG? Could there be a mechanical reason?

So this really depends on how you drive, if You're super aggressive with the accelerator you'll get like 16 mpg. I have the 2.7 and I average 19 to 20 if accelerate slow and keep closer to 60 on the highway. If I'm on the highway the majority of the time and keep it at 60, I've gotten it up to 23.2 mpg. I think the sweet spot for these vehicles is probably between 50 and 60 mph for the best mpg.
Gearing and tire size affect MPG but I agree that speed is the #1 contributing factor. I have a 2022 7MT 2.3L 4-door with 20K miles on it . If I go 55-60 on the highway I get around 21-21.5 MPG. Once I go above 65 it starts dropping fast. Needless to say I average around 17.2.

2.7L Auto Wildtrak and I get around 18 mix 21 HWY. Running normal mode. Eco mode is worse depending on headwind. Anyone else found better milage at 70/75 vs 65?

Fuel can play a role as well. I typically run premium, but see a decline when I run regular.

'22 base 2dr. 2.3L, 7spd manual, 4.46 gears, 32" black diamond take off wheels/tires.

I'm just under 30k miles and I've averaged 26.x MPG over those miles (87 octane gas)... Mix of city and highway driving in Northern VA, so it can get crazy at times.

Interesting that some get better MPG than others. I drive with a very light foot and coast- a lot- no matter what I drive. Some vehicles I get much better than EPA some I do not. As already stated, vehicle weight, engine efficiency, driving habits, gearing, tire size play the most significant roles in MPG. I have base 2 door Sasquatch with 2.7- very light weight package and I average 22.7- even driving 65-70. Pretty good. My daily is a 23 VW GTI- I get about 28 on the highway, same speeds, same roads- not too much better than the Bronco. I would expect MUCH better out of the GTI and it not be as close as it is............

Base 2dr/auto, I get 24.5 highway/23.5 mixed. Normal mode using a heavy right foot mostly when required, occasionally just for a smile. Trip to Yellowstone I got a high of 27+ driving UP and down Yellowstone. (all mpg recorded on the lie-o-meter) I'd say there is something "not right" unless you are drag racing light to light regularly or drive uphill in the snow barefoot both ways.

I have a 2Dr with the V6/auto and consistently get 22-24 MPG. I'm not heavy-footed though. I think that is the key plus I never go above 70. I've got the same OBX tires as shown.

You have to remember to calculate MPG by doing 32/30*Shown-MPG to get actual MPG if you started out with 30" tires.

Another thread on here where everyone is saying 20+ in SAS Broncos.... I still don't buy it.

Last tank, literally drove with the lightest foot possible, barely spooled the turbo, never went over 65mph. cruise control at speed limit almost every single time.... braking really early.

I got the dash to say 17.1 avg for the tank before the fill up. Fuelly says 15.1 actual.

Wildtrak... 2.7... stock.

Doctor all the pictures you want.... I don't believe any of you.
