I aggregated whatever data was available from Feb - Mar in the build week threads and noticed that of all the colors available, 1/3 of builders have chosen to go with Eruption Green. Amazing.

Ford Bronco I sampled over 300 Builds this year and determined that 2022 will be the year of Eruption Green 1646404260869

Well, to be fair, with the number of grayscale colors Bronco comes in, before Eruption Green you only had fire engine red, which is polarizing, school bus yellow, which is polarizing, and bright blue, which is a very common style color to offer.

For an outdoors lifestyle brand the color pallet is pretty terrible as a whole. Offering a non-tricoat metallic green was always going to be a high take-rate option given the mediocre pallet.

Full disclosure: I switched my order from Race Red to Eruption Green. I liked Race Red, but it was really only picked as my favorite of the 3 actual colors offered.

or the factory is set up for eruption green that month and picking those builds to minimize the production costs?

Maybe they are having delays in getting paint in other colors?

That would be not so amazing...

All that shows is that Ford is deciding to produce a high percentage of EG, has nothing to do with what people have ordered as a whole.

That's quite a big assumption. I highly doubt paint is dictating the schedule. LOL

Majority of vehicle buyers always settle for a non stand out color. They either can’t decide on a real color, or they just want to blend in with the herd. Green provides a herd color and a touch of stand out. I have always been partial to green as a vehicle color, but at this advanced stage of life, I decided Cyber Orange, was the way to go. It looks great, stands out, and provides easy location in a parking lot. Easy parking lot vehicle location is crucial as biological decay progresses due to old age. Lol You only go around once, so live it up!

I dont think its too far fetched. Region dictates a proportion of scheduling as Ford wants it distributed widely for the customer base. Adding in using a new color for marketing purposes is a win. Some of the first MY22s off the line were EG.

I know I am in the minority here, but I have never been a green fan of virtually any shade. The only shade of green I would consider for any vehicle I own or were to purchase would be Lime Green, but I know that has to do with my love of Kawasaki and the fact that I rode Ninja super bikes for so many years. All the EG lovers enjoy, but definitely not my choice ever!

I do believe Area 51 was one point away from being gray-scale correct? Technically... it's a color.

The video I am referring to is linked below...

I'm personally a Chili Pepper red metallic....I have a Tundra in Inferno right now, and don't like black/white/gray/silver....so there's not many choices for me. I just don't like my trucks blending with the crowd so to speak.

Yeah I've owned grey scale cars all my life. I chose HPR too for the Bronco because it's a Bronco and deserves to stand out.

Area 51: Blueish gray, my friend! It's close to being a color!
Area 51 is like looking up at the best sky blue ever...through the worst LA haze ever

I think the model data is interesting. I would have thought there would be more Wildtrak orders as the “top build”, but suspect the OBX with SAS ate into the market share as they are now mechanically the same thing as a Wildtrak but with what many consider to be better interior options and exterior upgrades.
