Nah I will probably just lead em on, get em talking about it until they realize its not a jeep and that they are foolish. Like a child wandering into the middle of a conversation.

That is just collateral damage of a long night of drinking beer while throwing cornhole. Good thing you didn't see the before pic, you might have had a heart attack/stroke/covid flare-up/aneurysm.

Yes, it does look like a Jeep with a Swinging Tailgate and not a EB which had a true Drop Down Tailgate.

My first gen NSX was most often mistaken for a Corvette. I'd say, "nope, it's a 15 year old Honda." I'm pretty certain that not a single person believed me. Pulling into my driveway in my Aston Martin elicited a "nice Chrysler" from my neighbor. Chrysler? Seriously? Basically nobody knows the difference between a 1970 Moto Guzzi Ambassador and a Harley, doesn't matter that the engine is oriented transversely or that is says Moto Guzzi on the tank. It's a big motorcycle and that means it's a Harley. People ask if my Ducati only has one-cylinder. Not sure where that's coming from. I smile and shake my head. The next question is typically "where's it made?" Ugh.

Bottom line is that most people just coast through life barely noticing anything at all, much less that your Bronco isn't in fact a Jeep. You can get upset or you could try to educate, but understand that they don't really care and, more likely than not, they're already done thinking about it. I'd argue against saying "it's Ford's Jeep" though. That's factually Incorrect and just doesn't seem like the best way to dumb it down.

How about this: guy gives you a thumbs up and yells "nice Jeep!" You smile, say thank you! And then add, "nice kilt!"

Alot of folks confuse my Indian motorcycle with a Harley Davidson motorcycle. I just give a smile and keep on going, sometimes it's just not worth the effort to explain.
