As we know, the stock system is quite lacking. I’ve replaced the 4” speakers which helped but I’m missing some bass now.

I either want a small 8”-10” single sub with amp or a small compact all in one.

What are y’all using? I checked used but didn’t see anything I liked. Looking to spend less than $300

What speakers did you use to replace 4” upfront? How would say they sound?
For powered sub, I’ve seen people use either the Kicker Hideaway 8-10”, Pioneer Basslink, or Kenwood down firing sub (that’ll be the route I’ll take)

I used Polk audio from Crutchfield. The highs and mids are a bit louder and much clearer. I no longer hear the muffled hollow sounding music that I was hearing with the factory speakers.
I was
Leaning toward the 8” kicker hideaway or one of the off brands on Amazon that’s less than $200

I used the rockville 10 inch that is on amazon for $150 it's not great, yet not too bad for a tiny sum of money. I don't listen to to much music that was made after 1995, and don't care for the neighbors to have to hear "the brown sound" emanating from the back of my Bronco like I'm some ghetto douchebag with no regard.
it rounds out the sound for classic rock, jazz, countty, punk, etc... does nothing worthwhile for hip hop or rap though.

For a compact powered subwoofer on a budget, this Kenwood 8" sounds decent. It's not audiophile quality but for the price much better than some of the budget brands. It's also easy to control with the crossover frequency and volume on the remote.
