Wow beautiful design and finish!
Though agree with others on the price, I think I'd buy it if it's like $100. Gotta capitalize on it since there's no other products like this yet I guess.

Better yet, have some semblance of knowledge about designing/machining/finishing and not hesitate about the $220 it costs to get this beaut! This is machined from aluminum stock, not some injection mold stuff. I guarantee if you buy one, you won’t blink at the price once you get it in your hands.

Go ahead and price out the things you would need to somewhat duplicate it, in cheaper materials, from China, and without the engineering to go along with designing the way the end feet take pressure off of the center mount.
I went homemade on my Jeep TJ with Kayak T rail, all kinds of Ram Mounts, etc. 3M VHB tape to mount it. I had about $150 wrapped up in the setup.
And it sucked.
It didn't flow well with design, was just kind of...there.
It performed its function of holding a phone, most of the time.
Anything else, it sucked at, and even the weight of the arm and phone caused the VHB to let loose every month or two and I'd have to reapply. GoPro footage was so jittery it was pointless. IT would not hold the weight of my phone AND my GoPro. And you could forget a handheld CB/GMRS.
I didn't want to run screws into my dash on the Jeep.
At the end of the day a machined, purpose-designed piece of functional artistry does cost more than DIY. And it does for a reason.
Yes, it's fairly expensive. But not bad once you dive into what went into it, why it works the way it does, and what it provides you in the end.
But if you want trouble-free, steady mounting solutions for your dash it's the best thing going at the moment.

So Archetype Racing (@EIGHTLUG) came through with the BYOD rail and this thing is beautiful! I can honestly say if Ford or 4WP came out with one, it would not be this nice. This thing is so saucy (as EIGHTLUG would say)! If you haven’t ordered one yet, you need to! Even if you don’t plan on mounting anything to it, it’s that nice! Now I really can’t wait for the STIRRUPS!

Dudes on here buying $60k offroad vehicles they wont take off road arguing over an American Engineered, American made billet aluminum accessory being expensive.

Yes China can do it cheaper, yes you could do it cheaper... People whine all the time about Chinese factories and domestic minimum wages being unlivable and corporations ruining the world then refuse to buy something combatting all of those lol.

Looks totally awesome....and mostly unneeded to be honest. I have a tacform mount and rarely even use it because of Android Auto, but in case I want to throw my phone/camera/etc. up there I did want something. But if you really need to have multiple devices up on your dash this is surely the coolest and most expensive way to do it
