Lol this sounds way too good to be true. Almost every complaint we have has been answered with a near perfect solution. It’s like the vehicles we have seen aren’t even close to what we’ll be getting at delivery.

Man that guy just got Ford some more money.

The 33” tires are 31-1/2”? That step in height of 24” seems a lot lower than the one measured on the same rig at the East event.

As for the quashing false information issues, transparently answering questions tends to do the best job of that.

(Edit): Actually, my 295/70R17’s are worn to where they are about 33”, and they are about the same height. Guess the tire gets squished an inch from the vehicle weight.

And the East photo showed 26-7” to the top of the sill (step over height). 24” to the top of the floor vinyl would be an inch higher than my lifted Rubicon. I think I’m going to be fine in a Badlands with no Squatch on 33’s. Can always do the 2” accessories lift later if I need to.

You didn’t ask my question if he knew how much the tops weighed ? (mic and mod)
He gave me a roundabout answer. Didn’t really know. He said for both tops, the front panels could be lifted easily by his 5’5” who doesn’t lift as exercise. No more than 10-15 lbs each. Take that as you will. The back is a two person job.

I imagine that, with Covid, Ford was trying to figure out what they could do. Vendors don’t know if they’ll get shut down. Sourcing paths could be lost. So they provided what they could to garner interest. The specialist gave the impression that they wanna do this right. It’s just a matter of timeline and will they get pushed to release something imperfect by management. Everyone who works in product development in any industry can attest to that experience.

Yea. The recurring answer is that the B&P has some bugs that need to be flushed out. I would not be surprised if the OBX 2.7L price goes since the auto transmission is standard. Their answers to “why is blah blah blah like this on the B&P?” have been “we’re working on it...”

Your tape measure looks accurate. I’ll try to get a better image this morning but my AR measurement is to the plastic flooring. It doesn’t account for extra height that you would naturally step over (no one is going to lift their foot exactly enough to get in haha; your body overestimates to make sure you don’t fall on your face).
I measured the same rig when it was at Sanderson Ford and also got 24”

If you get the sliding tailgate...where are the tools located? If they are still in the same spot, I assume you’ll have to slide the tailgate out to get to it, can you still reach the tool storage area with it extended? Also, with the tailgate option, is there still enough headroom to store the doors with the back top on?

Thank you so much for the answers and pics they are great ,too bad it was done in a disco lol.
For me i reckon the biggest thing i got was the 2in lift ! It would be nice to pick it up with the lift installed drive home and put my 37s on done.
Boy howdy that 2.3 has some ugly guts none of that monkey motion stuff sings longevity to me !
Can someone elaborate on this ugly guts motion engine info? I've been leaning towards a base 2-door 2.3L manual. But I tend to hang onto vehicles like grim death, lol. In that case, is the 2.7L V6 a better option for me (even though it means missing out on the manual)?

I’ll get more photos so you can look and discuss.

@SHLYGRR since you’re going back
someone mentioned this earlier.

On the 2” lift
Availability on all models?
Availability on Sasquatch?
Installed at the factory? Or dealer?
How much suspension lift over the badlands / Sasquatch suspension lift does the 2” get you? (I.e., 2” over base or 2” over badlands, which is about 3/4” over base?)

So this answered seems a little off to me.

Shouldn’t the step-in height be more on the Sasquatch because of the taller tires and the 10mm higher Suspension? Am I looking at it wrong?

Difference between the SAS and Badlands suspension/lift?

Barely any difference. The SAS is ~10mm higher, so step in height is about the same as the badlands with 33s (24” step in based on the iPhone AR measurement below)

Yes. You’re right. The Sasquatch is not lifted much more than badlands. 10mm is a half inch. Something to do with the badlands unique suspension. I asked the guy about how much worse the step in height will be for sas and he said negligible.

Can you measure the height on the Outer Banks? Did anyone ask if 33s will definitely fit?
Someone asked if 33s would fit on the stock trims, and they said yes 33s should be fine. Not sure they’ve tested it in all conditions to check for rubbing though.

Step in height was about 20” when I checked. I couldn’t get close enough for a good image since the model was roped off in a weird orientation.
