So I have 2 jerry cans for fuel but I’m yet to figure out how to actually get the fuel into the bronco. The jerry can fuel attachment doesn’t work, purchased a funnel from Amazon and that also didn’t work. What am I missing? I’m sure it’s something stupid, but here I am. Thank you in advance

Old school we called them Donkey D***. If you google “donkey d*ck fuel,” you will find them.

Actually, it’s a great question that most people probably couldn’t answer. Unfortunately, how to fill from a ”jerry can” is depicted on the inside of the fuel filling compartment door.

My interpretation of this pictogram is “Read the instruction manual”!

you have to shove the oem funnel thats by the jack in the rear floor cubby into the fuel hole first. That opens the flap. Then you stick the can in that. Just a short narrow black funnel.

I have a question, I'm not being a smarta** either, I'm just curious. What is everyone putting in these Jerry cans? I cannot imagine needing more fuel than the capacity in the gas tank these days with a 300+/- mile range. Are they for potable water? Something else?

I get 13.7-14.5 mpg so having extra fuel on board is nice. Jerry cans are more convenient than having a large storage container for fuel in your garage. Oh and the answer to your question is Bourbon.

As a 2-dr owner, the fuel tank is 16 gallons (16.9 actual). Daily driving on pavement, I average 20 mpg. Offroad, it drops considerably 8-10 mpg depending on conditions. So while a tank of gas is adequate while in range of service stations getting 20 mpg, a day offroad may be cutting it close. Now, if one is traveling offroad for extended days, then it is imperative that additional fuel is carried. A Rotopax is more as insurance/emergency use as it is only 2 gallons. A Jerry can holds 5 gallons. Derek (The OP) is getting SRQ's Dual Carrier bumper which can hold (2) 5 gallon Jerry cans. If you don't need the fuel capacity, then you can carry potable water for camping.
