I agree! JL Audio is very good at what they do and I don't see them putting out a product that's not top of the line. I just can't afford $1200

Just for clarity I was talking about the price of the kicker hideaway. The all in one amp, sub, enclosure. Being hard to beat. This is just my opinion everyone has one.

The JL is spendy and I think it fits into the more sophisticated DIY audiophile space or pro install shop as an alternative to custom box build.

Hey I’m a JL fan and have only exclusively use their subs for the past 15 years. But I won’t be buying the stealth box. I just don’t see the value justifying price.

What I am going to do is a Custom tale gate box with a JL TW3 12”Sub. You can get that Subway discount if you know the dealer for about $350.

I’m running to JL TW3’s in my Shelby GT500 right now and they sound amazing.

How is the rattling with the box installed? I am sure there are plenty of spots you had to work on.

Right now I have an 8” kicker in the factory box powered by a soon to be released Moab amp/DSP which is A2B direct plugin, so looking forward to hearing this with it.

So on this Moab amp/DSP - are you saying it plugs into the factory harness? Replacing the factory sub DSP?

It does not come with an amp. If you notice most of the Stealthbox line up on the JL website start at $999.99

I recall paying around $749.00 for the Stealthbox in my VW GTI 11 years ago in a recovering economy.

So the price has almost doubled in 11 years? Just doesn't make sense when you also need to add an amp. All the best to JL...

That is a very nice box, but non-amp, and the speaker is a 10. Then you need to cut to the grill, or just tack on their grill. Sorry, but 1200 is not going to get it done for me. I ran into this when I had my GT350. I was able to have a stealth box built, a kicker 10", and the Alpine amp all custom and installed for the price of the stealth box they had for the Shelby.

Think it's time to revisit that shop when I get ready to do audio in Jessabelle.

This would be reasonable if it was a 12TW3 or maybe two 10TW1s... but for one low power handling shallow subwoofer? No way it is worth that price.
