For those experiencing the no key detected message - did you do any rear interior trim panel work?

Mine has been doing this the past week too. It’s pretty annoying. Can’t figure out any patterns thus far. Key is always in my right pocket.

Have you ever removed the rear trim panel? Trying to see the % of people who have who are experiencing this

I also dynamated rear panel. Did your key fob issue not happen until much later after your rear panel work?

It happened much later, i would think anything i did back there has any effect with the key.

Mine just started today. '21 Badlands 2 Door. The Bronco recognized the key fob and allowed me to start it, and then started giving me the "no fob detected" on the dash and doing the damn double honk in the garage. Fob sitting right in the cup holders, on the shift lever, and in the cell phone charging area and still got the message/double honk. Didn't seem to matter where it was. The honk pisses me off more than the error message too, but that's just me. Who TF thought that was a good idea? Especially "door-less."

Been getting this problem since late spring, and now I have my answer. I dynomatted the entire storage area around that time. Very annoying. And I've got satellite radio interference from my roof rack install. Some poor design choices from Ford here for sure!

I get it often but always engine is running, I have stopped to empty something from back, not closed door completely to avoid double honk....then it goes away. Never affects drivability

I've been trying to read up on this issue but doesnt seem like there has been any real solutions unless I am missing something.

We just bought a new 24 Everglades a week and a half ago, build date in late April. First couple days owning it had this happen, no key detected. Got out closed the door and opened, came back in and was able to start it. Happened again a couple days later. But this time I was able to just hit the start button a couple times and it started.

Now this morning. My wife went to get in it to leave. No key detected so she got me. Had her get in and try again. Same thing. Went and grabbed the other key thinking it was the key fob. Had her get in, same thing. Switched batteries between the two key fobs, same thing, no key detected. Hit lock and unlock buttons and verified they worked which they did and nothing. So I get in it with the key fob, and put the key where the wireless cell phone charger would be in front of the cup holder. And it started right up.

This Bronco is 100% stock, never had anything apart and is brand new. It almost seems like key has to be in the center of the vehicle the more I think about the past times its happened. Pretty sure both times in the past when it did it the key was in my right hand, which then puts it in the center of the vehicle. What a terrible design this is.

It’s happened a few time to me. Usually several months apart. Sometimes physically tapping the fob helps. But it’s random.
