Check out the Mountains 2 Metal Flip down Attic shelf for an up high storage option. It flips down to access the gear.Not like what’s currently on market I can find. Want something behind back seats. Up high but below head rests. Prefer it mounts to existing holes like one pictured but brackets go down and forward toward seats. I’ve found a few but they require side mollee panels to mount. Does it exist?
That looks good. Don’t really want it to cover entire area. But it will do if I don’t find one half the size.
Yeah I was looking for something that stopped people just reaching in and grabbing stuff with the top down. With the shelf in they'd have to climb in and flip the seats forward to get anything in the trunk. Doubt they'd bother.
I have to find better pics and see if it’s easy to modify and lower a little
Gotcha, they have a lower shelf but that might be lower than you are describing.
I ended up getting mine from JCROffroad., for that exact reason: it locks everything in and prevents people from grabbing my tools and crap. The brackets mount using the existing hard top bolts.
Looking at this closer. It is about as close to what I’m looking for as you can get. This should do it.This might be slightly higher than the headrests and doesn’t require mole panels but does require M2M mounting plates. Not certain if this is what your looking for or not.
It’s a Mountains2Metal shelf. It comes in a fixed model and one that swings up for more money. Mine swings which comes in handy when you need to carry something big. My recovery gear rides on it and is zip tied down so stuff stays put in case of an accident. I’m awaiting delivery of M2M’s swing down attic shelf which is where my recovery gear will ultimately reside.
