Hi, wanted to see if anyone had a straight answer on this. Looking into adding a locker to my front axle and saw there is an eaton e-locker for the m190, but its only listed for the ranger on eatons site. Would this diff work (with the proper ring and pinon) in my broncos m190?

The link you posted shows 21-23 Bronco as well. Iā€™d call them and ask to confirm.
Personal recommendation is to not put a locker in the M190 though. For that price, buy a M210 from Ford Performance

Yeah for that money I would just do a FP M210.

The issue I think you may find is getting the proper ring/pinion for the 190. I donā€™t know if the non locker models are welded like the rear carriers are but it wouldnā€™t surprise me.

Iā€™ve seen a lot of 3.73 - itā€™s common on Ranger too, but get into the 4.46 and 4.70 range and I havenā€™t seen anything yet for the m190

Folks saying to just go M210 are of course generally correct, however: I see OP has an OBX which like my BB has a 4.27 ratio if it has the rear locker. An M210 is not available with 4.27. So, to avoid having to change both front and rear, this might be a viable option if ring, pinion and axle shafts can be reused. In operation I suppose you would want to use it cautiously, although a situation where engaging a front locker and caution may be oxymoronic.

In the spirit of too smart by half: I got a BB because I like the wheels, grille, cloth and carpet over the BD. I then added tires and skids to make it equivalent to a BD. But with the 4.27 ratio it is not nearly as easy to upgrade to the 210 as the BD with the 4.46.

An M210 is not available with 4.27.
There is the m210 4.27 ring/pinion set, so it can be done. But you are changing out gears either in the front or back, and generally if you are doing that, you want to go with the lower ratio not back into a higher one. So you aren't wrong - there isn't a stock m210 with a 4.27 to my knowledge, 4.46 is as high a gearing as they go per-assembled, and they go down (err.. up) from there.

Someone claims to have one for sale (I am not endorsing this sale) - it does have a P/N sticker shown and you can glean an engineering number from it, and I don't think it's a m210

Also the aluminum housing is the first giveaway.
Oh yeah forgot about that! I've been on the lookout far an M210 for myself. Hoping eventually they'll be available from auto recyclers.

It won't be too much longer.
Hopefully. Unfortunately though ideally I'm hoping to find probably one of the more rare ones. 4.46, so as far as I know needs to be out of a Badlands non-sas manual... šŸ˜”
Not in a hurry though.

Non-Sas auto, manual is 4.70.

I was tempted to buy new assemblies from ford in 5.38 but I'm looking at 6k vs 3k to regear. So that takes mine off the market.

On you're right! Had it backwards in my head. That may help some.
Yeah thats my dilemma with going new. If I'm going to do that I would go 5.13 or 5.38, and at least 6k. I'm ok'ish for now with my gearing, only running true 34's and plan on staying with those.

So one could get a M210 and Gear it to 4.27, good to know. The one on ebay looks aluminum, which would be a M190, it is tagged 4.27.
