I got my Bronco back in August so I had some time to put the top down, however the kids get wind blown in the back seat (which is fun to see in the rear view) and the sun does make the seats hot as all hell. So, since nice warm weather will be arriving here in NJ soon, I am looking at getting a bimini top. Any suggestions from those of you that have one. I have looked at Jtops one along with some others. Just trying to see which ones are stable not too much flapping, also I would like to leave it on and just close the soft top with the mesh top still attached. Thanks in advance.

The Bestop SAFARI Bimini - not the version a lot of people have with zippers and crap - is what you want. It fits like a factory product (no gaps in front by the windshield), can be pulled very tight/minimal flapping unlike most others. The j top does technically flap the least, but you pay the price of having to adhere Velcro all over your roll cage and it’s expensive. To close the softop with the safari bimini you just unhook the front edge of it and it buttons in place until you throw the top back again and reconnect the front hooks. Very simple, minimalist, and the best looking bimini option IMO. Price is decent considering the build quality.

Jtops! The velcro allows a great connection to the vehicle. It does flap, but compared to other brands, Its more solid. I ordered the gray mesh one because black will transfer more heat to the seats. My Badlands had the brackets for the hard top, so I ordered the zipper version. Ended cutting the zipper pulls as they are noisy on the highway. Happy with the quality and durability. Ensure that you allow the velcro install to completely dry/cure.

I had the Jtop Bimini. It is quality and I can see why people recommend it.

However, I found it took too much away from the open air experience for which I bought the Bronco in the first place. I’ve found using the soft top safari style good for when I want the sun or wind off me.

What is the difference between the Safari and the Access bimini?

The Bestop safari version is solid mesh (no zippers, crossbars, etc). The advantage is the visibility out the top is completely unobstructed (it does feel an little more “open air” than the Jtops does for those wondering) and it can be pulled much tighter than the access version can so it flaps around less and overall looks much less sloppy. The disadvantage is with the hardtop you pretty much have to completely remove it to put panels back on, but with a soft top you can just leave it in place all the time.

Big difference is that safari mode is free. Remove the back and side windows and you're all set. If you want open air, toss the top back and you're there.

Edit for clarification: It's not a product to buy. It's simply a way of using the soft top that you've already got installed.

Safari
Access

So the access has zippers to latch the soft top in the front and the safari does not? You can still access the front latches on the soft top? I have the soft top, but just wondering of the access to the front latches of the soft top? I just want to make sure I get one I can access the latches to the front of the soft top without much removing of the mesh top to get to those latches. Also, I will be keeping it on, since I have the soft top.

Both the access and safari version work the same for the front softop latches, you just unhook the front hooks and fold front edge back to latch. They have buttons to keep it folded nicely on front edge when softop is in place. The access Bimini version has additional zippers to allow for the hardtop panels to be taken on/off too but if u don’t have a hardtop no point to get the inferior access version at all - you’ll find that 90% of the people with a Bestop/Ford Bimini made the mistake of getting the wrong one for their softop.

Undecided
I own two different biminis and they all flap.

Found this thing recently and thinking of trying. Design wise looks pretty flapless.

The other solution was maybe getting the cross beam from a braptor and DiY extra lines to secure down our biminis.
