And you’re likely never going to see evidence unless you install one or you make a buddy with someone who has one.
I’m darn sure not going to take pics every xx miles and videos of the trails I’m on and open the air box and document dust just to prove to others what I know.
Since no one is trying to sell you anything, maybe you can trust someone that has experience with something you don’t.
Hell I thought these were just for hype and dress up before I got the Everglades, I even laughed at it when it was introduced, I got one because it was a heck of a deal and figured I’ll take the silly snorkel off.
But after I monitored it and noticed with the vent facing backwards my filter was no longer filling with dirt, bugs and leaf debris and never a drop of water making it to the filter it actually had a purpose.
I'm confused are you comparing snorkel with different facing inlets or snorkel vs. no snorkel? It sounds like the former whereas the question here is the latter.

Looks great... I'm still wondering how I can go about installing a snorkel to share the a pillar with my gobi rack.

Looks very good!

I'm still looking for one that will in any way be able to share the A-Pillar with a Gobi rack, while still being future proof enough that if ever I remove it, it won't be standing 6 inches out. (Not to mention retaining ditch lights there - though less worried about this. There's other options for ditch light mounting places).

I think the Mishimoto might be my best option as it stands away from the frame as is, and also has the option of retaining stock airbox, or upgrading to their fairly decent air intake upgrade.

I also don't mind how it looks. Not the biggest fan of the Bronco stock version.
Wow I'm amazed this thread is still alive! Yeah a Gobi wouldn't work but I believe there is enough clearance for a lightbar. I'll take some close pics and different angles and post.

The ford snorkel lets you swap the inlet front to rear. Rear less rain and first enter. Front everything coming at you goes in.
we are coming snorkel vs no snorkel.

The gobi rack has a ladder almost this small, non ironically :D

It works in that you couldn't easily get on the roof without it, but it's a single step affair, with the bumper being step one, the 'ladder' being step 2.

Overlanding = competitive over-preparing haha.
