I recently purchased a 2023 WT with 8500 miles on it. The average mpg on the dash said 19.3. I decided to reset it and after a 25 mile round trip it says 22.3. What’s up with that?

I certainly realize that. The question is how could I be getting that kind of mileage?

Idle time is factored in. You have to own it and use it for awhile. If you didn’t idle much. Mpg will be higher

Damn... I am getting 13.6... but I am happy with that. Was getting 16.9 when I was stock... but that is with a whole host of things factored in, I do not have the axle disconnect. I think that only comes on the 190. I have the 210. I also started out with 4.7 gearing....

Obviously not enough downward pressure on the skinny pedal! No worry, give it another few hundred miles and it'll drop. You'll need to hand calculate for a true number.

I was expecting 17 mpg so if the 19.3 is what it ends up being I’ll be happy.

Have you tried watching the MPG gauge? I don't pay much attention to it but it'll give you a good idea what driving style works for best MPG. Stay out of boost when possible for best results.

And realize that when you reset that, the history begins again....I'm now about to finish year two, about 19k....and I drive with eye of mpg, sorry...getting about 23 now with summer blends! A little of it on highway. When we head to So Dakota next week, hoping for 19...we'll see.
BD, 6, 10 speed, stock tires, 41 psi.

If your route is mostly flat and maybe the drive back was mostly a descent rather than ascending steep grades, you could easily hit over 25 mpg, for those low resistance portions of the drive.

I reset mine at the top of a one mile hill and roll down without pressing the gas, it says I get 75mpg’s.

I reset it again, this time going up the same one mile hill, and it says 10 mpg’s.

Do you see how neither is an accurate measurement of what mpg I will get after 5000 miles of driving?

That’s what you did in a less exaggerated way. That’s what’s up with that.

It was a round trip. Same path both directions. Sorry I bothered to post.
Right. And in my example, the average MPG is 42.5.

But as I drive on different roads, and idle at stop lights, and drive into headwinds, my MPGs will average out to a more realistic number over time.

You need to give it a few weeks or a few thousand miles of different driving scenarios to get a more accurate reading.

Don’t be sorry, this forum is for learning and it’s free.
