I have been haunted by AMB, no other way to put it. Off again, on again. But it does seem very dark and sort of purple in that factory photo. But if you listen to the audio on the video of the AMB jerry can, the lady says it all, Beautiful color if there is sun or under a street light. Decisions, decisions...
This video shows a quick shot of AMB on a new F-150 at 2:20.

Thanks for the video on AMB. Still torn on what color. Going to be doing @XPEL stealth. 2 door with either AMB, VB, or maybe Ford will be a hero and give us thay Boxwood Green. I think all 3 colors will go with a shadow black top.

Thank you for the write-up. It's some of the better information I've read about the vehicle, period.

What is "MIC" top?

Molded in color (gray). Stock on the 2-doors. An upgrade over the soft top on the 4-doors.

Sounds like a great plan.
my 2 cents here, seeing AMB react to light and the pearls is that under the matte XOStealth you would lose a lot of that blue effect. It relies on light scattering across the different size and color flakes, and without that gloss coat it may prove to be underwhelming.

Thanks!
my opinion is that colors on a vehicle need to compliment the shapes and body lines. Contrast, done tastefully, is a big help to make it look richer, draw the eye to a detail, help set off a color.
I like the AMB and VB both a lot. I think some effort and thought, and probably a LOT of trial, error, and test panels went into their final decision.
for the 4 door I think solid tones and/or darker colors help it look firmly planted.
too much of a good thing is a real deal.
ive Done lace jobs on hoods, roofs, etc. always as an accent or a compliment. Never as a full body effect.
I liken the pearl effects here to that. It may look fine. But it could also flirt easily with being too much on a big billboard of a 4 door.
I definitely would not go Body color on the 4 door, especially with these pearl tricoats
Black, white, Carb Grey, maybe red would look ok with color match top.
Once you go so far it begins to look like a glittery Sahara.
I’ve owned some loud cars in my day. Yellow Cobalt SS
Yellow Ranger Splash
Calypso Green Ranger and 92 Mustang
Comp orange 72 Camaro
Viper Blue pearl C10

the yellow ones faded faster than they should have.
I got so tired of the green/teal in the 90’s and got sick of looking at the color
I could never tire of the 72 Camaro. But you weren’t blending into any traffic, ever.
Great insight, thanks again it really helps!

Thank y'all. I've been going batty trying to figure out what that meant.

I don't have experience with the DIY kind of rhino lining, would white rhino line look okay you think? Or would it discolor and have dirt stuck in it?

OP: thanks for sharing this

Is the 2door badlands on 33s or 35s? I asked in another post but haven’t been able to find the answer.

This is a hand-grenade of a question! ?
Again, as MY opinion and experience dealing with it:
It works just fine. Get White Raptor liner kit, prep it super well, clean it super well, make sure your compressor will handle you spraying for a while. I do all of my lining outside unless it is too cold or raining. No trash issues, ever.
haven’t seen any yellow yet. Did a white on an old FJ about 5 years back, still looks white.

How much do you think a professional shop would charge for that?

Hard to say.
I can tell you what I would charge, and what I currently charge to do Jeep tops.
I can do a 2 door for about $500, 4 door about $700.
Other shops prices that I’ve been told are about 20%+ on the 2 door and 30-40% more on the 4.
Or the materials will cost you about $300 to DIY.
