Anyone know if there is an actual shortage again? There are now 270 of us with similar model/trim stuck “in production”. That doesn’t include all the other model/trims that are also stuck as well as those “built” and now on plant hold. Something is going on!

- I’ve been in Production for over a month, and Ford Chat tells me I’m built and they see no constraints noted.
They are still building 2000+ per week with deliveries. So the “chip shortage” is the excuse for horrible ford planning.

Yikes. That makes me really nervous. Have you received any other information at all? That is the thing that is upsetting... In this day and age of technology and information, I wish Ford would at least give the buyers real time specific information on their builds. We can handle the bad news. The uncertainty and lack of transparency is just not good.
Ford probably doesn’t know themselves when the parts will arrive so why tell you a date that isn’t solid?

So you are saying that Ford should be sending daily emails to everone who placed an order...for hundreds of thousands of people, telling them what is happening today?

I think they should go back to "When you car is at the dealership, they will call you".

All this "hold my hand" stuff sure gets old...
Actually it’s a fair request- people have been waiting 3-4 months with ZERO communication except a BS email about delays due to extra quality control.

Because complete trucks are coming off the line NOW. Ford seems to have no plan / no focus on vehicles they couldnt finish at the time they went through the line and placed to the side

I feel the exact same way as you about this whole thing, even though this is obviously a very different scenario than the wait on a normal ordered vehicle. Obsessively checking in on the truck is going to do nothing other than stress the buyer out, stress the dealer out, and make the wait feel even longer.

Dealer gave me my VIN and build week a while back, have not once pulled up the pizza tracker to date... Called after my build week ended to see if I should make arrangements to go pick it up soon, got told it was delayed. Once the next estimated build week passes I'll call again to see if I should make arrangements or keep waiting.

I'd love for mine to be parked at my house as much as the next guy, but life goes on. No need to worry myself to death over a nonexistent truck!

No transparency. Just on hold. Waiting since mid January

Why do you need ANY communication? You ordered a vehicle, and you will get it when it is built and shipped to your dealer.

Right...Ford is just randomly building vehicles, with the situation where the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing...give me a break.

You don't know what the plan is, because it's not up to them to try to explan every issue that they are facing with building a vehicle in today's environment. If you think they do not want to get vehicles out to customers as soon as possible, then I don't know what to tell you.

agreed, but how about just give me a true update (not the chat line customer service that tells me that my bronco is built and no constraints noted in the system) - hey your build is missing these specified parts. they are on backorder and we estimate completion in the next XX days. Pretty simple.

We will have to disagree on this one partner. I don't think they need to give updates to people that just have a reservation or an order. They should for the people who have received a blend week notice and an email that said they are In production and are over a month past their blend date. It's not that hard. Heck, the chat line person told me that their data they look at isn't the same data as the dealer or at the plant. How about just give the customer support team the actual updated data?

Didn't say that at all, and you are completely exaggerating my point. An update is warranted, and should be very easy, for those that are past their blend dates by more than 2 weeks or so. It's not asking for much.. just the real update and not someone on a chat line that tells me that they see no constraints noted in their system but have no idea why am still in Production and to call the Dealer for more information. Only for the dealer to tell you that they don't know either.

Just because you are in production does not mean it is being built. The actual build week will move often. My wildtrak build week was moved 4x before it was actually built.
