THE LOSS OF THE REAR CAMERA IMAGE, WHILE IN REVERSE, INCREASES THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Anyone else feel like this statement is a little extreme? Who else is old enough to remember when we had to use the rear-view mirror or turn our head? Yes, the faulty part needs to be replaced, but if my rearview camera were to fail, I'm pretty sure I could still manage driving it safely.

Bronco owners without available fix for recall #23S48

LITERALLY ME, #very time I back up! And my camera works just fine. I learned to drive when you actually had to look at the road, or in the general direction you were going at least! 🤣

On my app too, and I have a 2022
Also a 2022 Badlands. I now have 3 open recalls: the rear camera, the rear shocks and the stupid seat belt latch plate, that I guess I will do when I am in for the other 2 recalls.

I had this rear view camera issue in the past, going black. I made a post asking about it also.

I found the wire was loose, I
Took the carrier off and move the wire around until it worked, rolled a ball of duct taped up, and jammed it down the carrier until it stopped and the camera wire didn’t move anymore. Haven’t had an issue since. Lol

I had mine in the shop for hail damage, and while it was there they went through the recalls, and all I got was a clip on my seatbelt.

Oddly enough, the day after I get it back the front camera stopped working.

(Probably has more to do with the deer I hit than any sort of issue though)

I have had a recall on my 21 Badlands camera. Campaign/NHTSA# 23s48/23v598 since 10-04-23 nothing new here.
for the same issue. I have never had the camera black out. My dealer told me not to worry till I had issues. Who knows the right answer?
High package for what that's worth!

Reminds me... now that the 2.7L recall is past Q1 2025 and still no remedy, my service department told me to stop asking them and ask to Ford when the remedy would be available...
You will get another letter in the mail when they've got a procedure out. The next issue could be parts availability if there are a bunch of failures. I don't have any of Ford's data but would assume the majority of these failures have already happened as a % of the total number of units covered by the recall. I would've rather seen them do a blanket warranty extension like 10yr/100K or something like that instead of having us try to make one fail. A lot of these recalls are inspect and if not bad, recall is closed and if it fails a week later, tough cookies.

According to NHTSA information, it seems there is going to be a 10yr/150K warranty extension attached to it also

Isn't it funny how many times 14M02 has been modified? We don't do anything with this, preemptive check wise, just do if it's in time/mile limitations and had the problem. IMO, this engine recall should be the same way. No need wasting our time trying to get it to fail, just deal with if it does. We've got enough other warranty crap to deal with we aren't going to get paid for. Got one right now 27 hours in and finally got our FSE off the programming hotline and back into the field. Only problem is he now has double the number of dealers assigned to him, 51 instead of the 20 some when they assigned him to the region.

Yeah it’s ridiculous. Anything to make us jump through hoops 🤷‍♂️

This recall is showing for my 22. Funny because my rear camera has been perfect *knock on wood* but my front camera was replaced a year or so ago.
