Any updates? I’m anxiously waiting to hear how the RCI sliders and NVM skids interface:).
So I have a rear main seal leak!
Dealer is waiting for parts becuse of the holidays. Hope to get in the shop the beginning of the new year, but untill then i wasn't going to install anything.
BUT
Was board so i thought i would open the boxes of the skids and
HOLLY HELL!!! These things are beefy!!

The packaging was great.
Just from first look and feel. The price is justified! Once these are on the protection will be awesome!!
Now to figure out how they all go on!!
I might install the tank skid, but don't want anything in the way when they pull the tranny to get to the rear main seal.
As allways, wait and see!.

You’re a kind and benevolent soul! Thank you for the skid porn! All I can do is wait for my order to arrive. Sorry to hear about your rear main. Best of luck for an effective and quick repair. With Snacktimes review of the ARB sliders, I’m considering just selling mine for the RCI’s, but I’m waiting to hear how your install goes first.

I’m planning to get skids before a VT trip later this year and NVM has been top of my list. Could you tell if the aluminum is bare or was it coated with anything? I had been curious if it would be smart to pull off the plastic paneling when they arrive and have the aluminum powder coated to prevent corrosion if they are bare and had not been coated. What do you think?

It is bare. Not sure if I see the need for a coating on it. The plastic SHOULD protect from gouges and such, it is why I sprung for the extra protection. I was not thinking of coating.

installed the NVR belly skids. Another instructions not that great but there product is amazing!!! Super strong feels almost bulletproof now!!!

Replaced my bash plate with the RCI one. It is 1/4" thick compared to 1/8" thick and had already bent the factory bash plate. It meets pretty much perfectly to the NVR belly skids. Supper happy with it

Took the RCI sliders and held them in place. With the 40s they're too big in length. I'm going to see if my local fabricator can work with me about shortening them up

I'm thinking I need them shortened by about 4 in The rear is perfect no interference if it's too much for the local fabricator I'm going to reach out to RCI directly. Mounting up to the belly skids you're going to need a spacer underneath the one bracket elongate the holes on the side mounts and figure out a way to hold the nuts on the back side of the frame which I don't think will be that hard because once the belly skids are in you're not getting to that part and I'm mounting them on top of the belly skits but for now I reinstalled my factory rock sliders which have done me very well since the beginning. I just use a sawzall and removed approximately 5 in from the front and about an inch and a quarter from the rear now I have no clearance issues and I have some nice protection

In thinking about this last night, perhaps cutting that one bracket off and moving it “up” would eliminate the need for the spacer plate and elongating the holes? The problem I’m still having a challenge visualizing is how to get access for the internal frame nuts. Getting them on somehow is one thing, but if you ever have to take them off (any time you remove a belly skid for anything, since they will be sandwiched between slider mounts/frame) seems like it could be a real PITA.

I thought the same as you about cutting but you'd have to cut the belly skid and it's a mounting point and I really don't want to give up that structural integrity on the belly skid either so I think sandwiching is better. In regards to the hidden nuts I would probably tack them in place with a weld or do something so they wouldn't move that way I wouldn't have an issue when you have to remove everything cuz you know it's going to happen and I agree it's going to be a pain in the ass! But let me tell you with these kids as much as I love them and it really gives great protection and they're strong just doing service is going to be a pain in the ass but you got to give to get right!

Looks good @Tor148! I’m kinda worried what I’m going to do between my RC hidden winch mount and the front of the first NVM plate. From your pics I’m thinking I’m going to have a gap… :/
You might I was very impressed how the RCI bash plate lapped right over and basically was perfectly flush with the belly skids It was like it was meant to be
