Question - The standard wheels on the NON SAS Badlands are 17X8.0 if i was switch out the wheels for something new and also want to have those wheels be compatible with 35s in the future, would 17x8.5 wheels fit both tire sizes?

Thanks

You’ll want to concern yourself with offset/width more so than width/diameter.

35’s can be found in all sorts of shapes and specs, but stuffing them into the wheelwell is the trickiest part.

Go for a +35 offset down to a 0 offset, this will stick the tire out further. Get yourself some sas flares and you’ll have adequate coverage.

There is lots of knowledge in the Tire/Wheel Mega threads within the Tech section of the forum

To answer your question, an 8.5" wide tire will fit both sizes. You can also run 35's on an 8" wide wheel and 33's on a 9" wheel. However, most aftermarket wheels do tend to come in 8.5" and as pointed out, pay attention to offset.

What they said, also the tire manufacturer will specify an acceptable width range if you look up the specs. 8-10" is generally safe for 285, 315, or 12.5

Would 0 offset and backspacing of 4.75 Inch be fine on both 33 and 35s?

I'm running the 9" wide RTR's and there is good room on them for the stock 33's. My tire shop was initially concerned until we put it on the ground ran lock to lock and were very pleased. You can run out to a +0 but you will need the SaS flares and flaps if you like the paint on your door. I chose to go with boards on my set up. Would prefer a mico flap to close the gap from flare to board since I get a lot of mud on top of the boards.
