Official Ford WARTHOG Package

This package from Ford reads “WARTHOG BEAUTY RING KIT”.

I am convinced WARTHOG was going to be the official name for Bronco Raptor.
Too many documents, labels, and packages that reference WARTHOG for it to have simply been a code name.
Ford themselves even filed a patent for WARTHOG prior to the release.

When people hear RAPTOR, they immediately think of the F-150 truck, not Bronco.
Case in point, if this package read, “RAPTOR BEAUTY RING KIT” you would have no idea which Raptor vehicle it is for (F-150? Ranger? or Bronco?)

The Warthog name suits the Bronco so much better than Raptor.
Ranger Raptor is ok since it is a truck, but Bronco Raptor should have been called WARTHOG.

A missed opportunity on Ford’s part.

I could not agree more. The Warthog name is considerably better than Raptor. Obviously within Ford the bean counters over ruled the marketing boys. I say this as establishing a new name, would definitely cost more than just slapping Raptor on everything. Sad in my opinion...

Someone needs to do a vinyl wrap (or a sticker/vanity license plate) on their Bronco Raptor to pay homage to this legend.

Agreed. Accountants and marketing blew it. They got cold feet.

Now if they were smart, they’d realize they over did it on the Raptor price increase and they’d intro the Warthog as an 80k rock crawler. Market the Raptor as the Wildtrack desert runner on steroids and market the Warthog as the Badlands off-roader on steroids.

My mind goes a different direction when I hear Warthog. I agree though, Broncos should be Warthog. Raptors have their place, just not in the Bronco stable.

Clearly Ford was trying to monetize the F150 based Raptor moniker by including other models like the Bronco, Ranger and likely other future models as well.

Warthog is much more suited to the Bronco and would have been an awesome official name!

Someone needs to do a vinyl wrap (or a sticker/vanity license plate) on their Bronco Raptor to pay homage to this legend.

I tried to do a personalized “WARTHOG” plate but all permutations were unavailable (in NY).

I was too, then thought I would add my 2 cents while here.

Ford monitors this site. A normal person would think they'd pay attention to what folks say on here like the rest of us that listened to actual Bronco owners before we bought ours. Warthog would be a far better name than Braptor or whatnot. Ford has made plenty of money off of us, they can afford a new nameplate.​

But the Raptor name is far better for overall name recognition for the Ford brand, since the F-150 and Ranger used it.

I like the idea of using the Warthog name on a product in between the Raptor and Badland though..maybe all the Raptor stuff (maybe not fenders) and just use the 2.7L or 2.3L

The Moar Door is the Raptor, because who cares about a rig that belly drags at the first obstacle…..
