Hello. New here and just looking for some answers on how my order is going to go. I didn't have a reservation. Just walked into a dealer yesterday, built a base Bronco with aux switches, mod bumper, and brush guard. I paid a $500 deposit and left with the salesman telling me it would be 4-8 months. Is this a realistic timeline or is that laughable? Kind of hate to ask because I don't want my excitement level to die, lol. I just feel like I'm out of the loop on how orders are going, or working right now and wanted to get an idea. Thanks!

Took a year and a few days to get mine. There are people on here that have been waiting for a year and a half with no build date. There are some who have waited a few months and have their Broncos. What it comes down to is dealer allocation and part constraints.

Thanks! Sounds like it’s a crap shoot. I’m still excited tho. Guess the longer I wait, the more I can save for wheels and tires. Ha

The most important thing is how many allocations your dealer has and whether there are commodity restrictions on builds ahead of you at that dealer.

Your dealer might know these numbers and be doing the math or they might not have a clue.

The real question, are you asking if the timeframe is laughably short compared to the people who waited well over a year or laughably too long? Because you might get a VIN this weekend and you might get one in late '23. Nobody has a clue.

I thought that timetable might be laughably short based on some of the things I have been reading here since being on it. If I get it within the 8 months, I'll be more than thrilled.

Once every few weeks they schedule production for a couple of months ahead (like this one). You'll want to be looking for something on those dates. You'll get a VIN and build week, and then will have to wait to see if that sticks - build dates change frequently. Join the build week thread for your week and you'll see how others fare with you. In the meantime, happy shopping for stuff you'll want to add when it shows up. Like some folks, you may end up with a pile of goodies to stick/bolt on when it arrives. I hope Ford gets their stuff together with this process, it will definitely try your patience.

If you have a soft top and avoid the constraints, some people have been getting quick builds. If your dealer knows their allocations, it might help. Mine would not tell me. I think most will not.

The dealer lottery ( called allocation by ford) is what dictates when your order is delivered. Soft top helps, 4drs are 80% of production.

As mentioned, a soft top probably moves you up in line at your dealer, but if the dealer's line isn't moving it won't happen. I am of the option that a soft top with anything you want constraint wise is probably in good shape - if your dealer's number is getting called.

I called around and found a dealer in a remote location with a few allocations a month and a small number of orders that were heavily leaning towards hard tops. I placed my order in mid-December and got a build week last week - 36 days from order.

I order a base, 2 door, hardtop with a few small upgrades on 1/12/22. Just got a VIN number yesterday and a build date of 3/21. We will see. Seems to be a crap shoot on when yours will get built. Good luck.
