Took delivery 1 week ago, and was on it's maiden road trip, now I have a cracked windshield. Regular size pickup kicked up a piece of asphalt. The windshield cracked & spidered on impact. It also chipped from later the same day from a semit.

Is there any way to protect these windshields?

Nope, hope that doesn't happen again. Remember back in 2015 we picked up a JK for my wife, had it 2 days and had to replace the windshield. What happens when its basically straight up and down.

Seems inevitable. Windshield is almost straight up and down, instead of a nice slanted angle. Lots of threads on it, luckily it hasn’t happened to me yet. Make sure you have glass coverage on your insurance.

They do indeed make this and other kits that essentially are PPF that strives to be optically clear. You can also just talk to a local wrap shop and they should have it available to put on your windshield as well. Fairly common here.

How well does it work? No clue, but my forum buddy who does vinyl for a living seems to have a lot of faith in it.

Just installed the IAG hood deflector. Gloss black with my shadow black Bronco is perfect. You can't even tell it is there and no rattle. Love it. Hope it helps already had one Crack and replacement this winter.

Thinking/pretty sure we all have cracks. Least we have that in common?

Got a chip in the first 2 weeks, installed the hood deflector and no problems since.

I've had the Aeroskin II hood deflector on mine since shortly after I got it. Over 25,000 miles already and (knock on wood) no chips/cracks thus far.

Had a fairly good size rock fly over a car in front of me on the way to work. About a couple of months after purchase. It hit perfectly in the seam between the windshield and top of frame. Shattered a good chunk of glass. Already had a couple of minor hits that I fixed with a repair kit. When that bigger one hit, that's when I knew the pretty was knocked off and I stopped caring.

Made it 5 months, almost to the day. Stupid driver in front of me was rubber necking trying to film an accident with her phone and drifted onto the shoulder of 287. Threw a rock and sealed my membership to this club. About the size of a nickel. Hoping it can be filled. So pissed right now 🤬
