I don't think this is a fair question. But everyone stuck in this situation. Chances are good your MIC Bronco is already built. And Ford will never go back to convert it to a soft top. If its built with a MIC; it will leave MAP with a MIC. Ford won't lease them until they pass inspection even if you decide to convert to a soft top. It's basically a sit and wait situation at this point...

Mine is a little different scenario so I wont vote.

As someone with a VIN whose date keeps getting pushed back, I would gladly take a soft-top and an option to buy the hard top at its 2021 price when it was made available in what I assume will be 2023.

I'm sure I don't speak for everyone, but most of this could be solved by simple communications from Ford Motor. I would be willing to wait calmly with no grudge or animosity towards Ford if they would keep me in the loop on what the actual hold-ups are. I don't need the minutes from the Board meetings, just something more than "Stay Pumped."

Have any idea what the excuse would be on this? I was assuming fords excuse was the MIC top.
Nope... hearing rumors of chip shortage. But I can’t figure out why later builds and similar builds to mine - 4 door BL soft top non squatch - are being shipped...

Ford can design a beautiful bronco but getting them built and shipped is a different story and their lack of communicating with us is friggin horrendous ..

Can’t shut down the line!

So when chips came in they go to production!

Parked Broncos will be addressed when Ford has some spare time and chips!

The MIC top isn’t seemingly working out. Ford blames Webasto but it is Ford’s design and tooling…. And let’s be honest, Ford has been driving around the MIC top test units and demos for the past year. It is not like they only started making MIC tops in May…. So if there are design or production issues, SURELY this was evident by mid 2020 at the latest. What did they know and when did they know it and what did they do about it?? We saw the Bestop Fastback soft tops being showcased on 2DRs in the field; it would stand to reason that this was done precisely because of the MIC issues. I just can’t believe this is holding up production this late the game. A field full of penned Bronco’s? WTF Ford!

I’m thinking it has to do with the big flood they had at the end of June I think all the Broncos that were in production and out in the parking lot maybe they all get hail damage and now they’re trying to figure out what to do about it

I didn’t say you did.
Just explaining why later builds were shipped and ours weren’t. Theory.

Not theory, absolute fact, confirmed by employees.
If they run short on a particular part, they will store those shorted Broncos until they have EXCESS parts to install on them.

By EXCESS, I mean they have more parts than the production line needs for the schedule. The line will always be first priority. They will not stop the line except as last resort, if they can get the extras for the field Broncos, great....if not, they wait ....and wait ..... and wait.

In the mean time, all those later builds that are complete are shipping directly off the line.

I'd take a reject top for now , with a warrantied replacement in 2023 ..... but I know Ford doesn't want to produce what would become a running joke for decades in the constant Bronco/Jeep bickering that has happened since 1966.

Except it's also been confirmed there are no line parts shortage and chips are NOT a bronco issue.

If you got mod shop parts all gloves are off...That's not the line.
