RC High Winch Mount & Winch Install w/ Control Box Relocation

The smittybilt only needs longer cables. I went with the Warn kit cause the price wasn’t bad, decent length cables and the rubber end caps were black. Didn’t want red and yellow on my front bumper.

This is the same kit I ordered. Smittybilt recommended 3 AWG cable to relocate the solenoid. I couldn't find the specs on the WARN kit, but figured I would take a chance. When it arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to see they use 2 AWG cable.

The terminals on the X20 Gen 3 are on top of the motor, so unfortunately it won't look quite as clean as yours. The control box is configured differently as well, but it should still fit on top of the engine bay fuse box...once I relocate the Panda module, that is.

Do you have the ACC? Does it still work?

ACC works great... without modifying or relocating ACC radar sensor.

Parking sensors work after relocation with RC mounts. (Initially threw some error codes but I did some aiming and troubleshooting... no problems since).

I'll take some pics of the relocated camera angle later today.

Looks GREAT! This is the only way to go. The control box takes up so much room on top of the winch and blocks so much grill.

On parking sensors was it actual on screen errors or did they just fire randomly?

I had to turn off and on my parking sensors in the radio. Worked fine after.

Some crazy shit.

Swapped which side the sensors were on.. problem followed the sensor.. was careful to align the sensors directly forward... problem became intermittent... and eventually went away.

That is awesome, looks so much better!! I was super excited to try this until I realized you don't have a lightbar in there.

I do not like how mine looks on the front. The camera bracket and kit is top notch quality, just not for me.

That is awesome, looks so much better!! I was super excited to try this until I realized you don't have a lightbar in there.

I do not like how mine looks on the front. The camera bracket and kit is top notch quality, just not for me.

I wasn't a fan of the RC light bar... and I liked the way the RC grille resembled the Badlands grille... so at first I mounted a "stealth" light bar behind the RC grille.

I needed to move the control box (cooling issues)... and I needed to solve the camera issue. I figured I could always put lights elsewhere... but there was only one place I wanted to put that camera. I've got another set of pods for my cowl to replace the light bar from the winch.

After a lot of different configurations, I'm finally satisfied where I'm at.

I just coiled the excess at the top of the core support. It would have been easy to extend the washer hose as well, but cutting the hole to fit that would have gone below the bottom of the lower support. I just unclipped the nozzle from the bottom of the camera and capped off the line with a rubber vacuum line cap.
