I think the Braptor one looks better and think I may hold out for them to be available at the parts counter.
Good call. I can’t see why that wouldn’t fit on the regular Bronco.

Hell, it probably attaches to the Sport too!

With long enough sheet metal screws it should attach to anything! Even a Suzuki!

When this gets sandwiched between the tire carrier and the tailgate does it scratch the tailgate or is there rubber on one side of the bracket
There are rubber stoppers between it and the hinges, but not between the part where the tire is and the gate. Arguably with 12 bolts attached it shouldn't do to much shifting.

My BD light bar has an adhesive backed foam-like pad you attached to the bottom so when you secure it to the bumper, it won't scratch it. Arguably it shouldn't move much too, but still nice to have. Would have been a good addition to the RC mount.

Maybe someone can explain to me how these work. I can see how it would stiffen up the tailgate, but it seems like the hinge is still the hinge and all that weight is still on the "receiving side" mountain to the Bronco body.

I would think that if someone needed to reinforce, they hinge itself would need to be replaced with something beefier.

Or is the whole point of these things simply to stiffen up the tailgate and not actually beef up the hinge?

Can you mount brackets to the cut outs for items or is it not made for that?

Just clarifying, received rc tailgate thing, it's a little bent, but i think it's supposed to be. Don't have bronco to check it against.

Does yours have a slight bend to it?

I didn’t end up buying one yet. Sorry I can’t help you with that question but I’m sure somebody else here can.

Great idea.
I was also wondering about the bumpers on the hinges coming into contact when you open the tailgate. I wonder how others are faring with that

The popping noise in the tailgate was driving me crazy, and I isolated it and identified it as the weight of the spare. I bought this and had it painted to match (Iconic Silver) because I didn't think I would like the black standing out. Absolutely solved the tailgating popping noise and looks good.
