Hey there, has anyone else experienced their rear glass hatch rubber bump stop things turning white? I've never experienced this with other vehicles I've owned. Tried searching the forum but couldn't find anything.

Have you been using some kind of cleaning chemicals around them? That would be my guess as to the cause.

Mine did as well. Used some conditioning grease and it worked for a bit, but white is coming back.

There are a few pieces in my bronco that are like this. Not sure why, I've never applied any chemicals or anything on them either

I've experienced this for years in my industry. Bloom is a very common occurrence on high strength rubber materials. You'll likely see it occur most often on bicycle inner tubes and uncoated rubber boots. There's no physical problem with the rubber but if you don't want to see it then you can apply a light coat of isopropyl alcohol however it could return over time.

Mine are doing that too. I try to keep them lubricated with Honda Shin Etsu (sp) grease for rubber, but they're still going white...

Happening to mine as well. And the seatbelt latch rubber cover too as Larry Gates mentioned above.

Thanks is it the same with the seatbelt latch cover as shown in the other poster’s picture?

I have that on mine as well. Good to know a little alcohol would clear it up
