Recommendation for Adding Lighting to Brighten Roads?

Start by upgrading headlights, and add aux lights from there if you still want more! There's a ton of different options available on the market, but we'd suggest looking into something like the Oculus Bi-LED Headlights, especially if you may benefit from having a heated lens option. Usually, upgrading headlights fixes the itch and solves the problem with a lack of lighting.

My pocket lights (Mod bumper) are Diode Dynamic from 4x4truckLED love them I have the Sports, I have the SS3 as my spot light (off road) then I have the two SS2 as fogs one amber on clear this way I can pick and choose if I want white amber both and/or spots, I usually have both fogs on at night unless it is foggy or raining then just the ambers. I bought some Harbor Freight 3" Pod for my Golf Cart build and decided to try them on the Bronco for ditch lights I am very impressed with those lights they even have extra LED that throw light to the side which helps me since that snorkel gets in the way. but with this set up I have all of my aux switches used, 1- GMRS, 2-SS3 spots, 3- SS2 Back light, 4- SS2 Amber, 5- SS2 Clear, 6- A pillar lights.

@Dirtrider, did you model and 3D print your block? Any chance you might share the file? I generally use stl files out of SolidWorks, but I think I've used 3mf too. I use the Prusa Slicer.

I designed and modeled this in Fusion 360 which I export via .3mf to Bambu Studio. Prusa Slicer should be able to import 3mf files as well. The .3mf files have more information than .stl including scaling and color information. I'm filing a patent on this but might be able to work something out with you. I have two versions, one with 5 wire connectors and one with 3 wire connectors. They are printed using PETG and don't require supports. I do have one of each version on hand populated with the WAGE connectors and a couple of other hardware pieces. If you e-mail me, [email protected], we can discuss further.

Elevating excelent head light and fog lights adjustment helps a lot they are too low from factory and have a very sharp horizontal cut off Im suprized I dont get flashed with my adjustment thats was aiming for illumiating sidewalks and pedestrians wearing black on black winter nights. Saved a small fortune on accessory lights

I have read lots of specific posts on lighting written by folks who go off-road. I've just purchased a 2023 Black Diamond Sasquatch for my wife. She probably won't drive off the blacktop. I may, on the rare occasions when I get to drive the Bronco. What do y'all suggest if I want to add a set of auxiliary lights to brighten the road ahead, in addition to the standard headlights?

DD has excellent videow on youtube comparing fog lights. I like it because they don't put their competitors down. Also they focus on performance vs cosmetics.

Their video comparing the Stage Series and Elite Series fog lights are the major reason I went with the Elite Series.

i watched the YouTube videos too. I thought the presenter was chill. The video was illustrative and a picture is worth 1000 words. The DD fog lights are sure to be an exciting upgrade.

I went with a similar setup with DD but SAE SS3 fogs, SS2 Driving and SSS2 Combination in the Modular Bumper pockets with SS3 Combination(?) on the A Pillar all Sport with amber backlight. I bought them from Panda Motorworks. Panda and DD are only about 10 miles from me so a logical choice. I like that the DD lights are total internal reflectance, most efficient and you can change the 'lens' if you want something different.

I think DD is one of the few manufacturers who understand that LEDs radiate light differently than filament bulbs. Hella is another.

I know I'm old but I don't understand how the National Highway Traffic Administration allows the small projection LED headlights used more on 'premium' cars and SUVs and many trucks. My eyesight isn't what it used to be but I find it very difficult to drive against many (most) of the new car headlights. Haven't they ever heard of Discomfort Glare or Unified Glare Rating? (I digress, pet peeve)
