Currently have the stock squatch rims and tires. I am looking to put on 17x9 rims with either +1 or -12 offset with my current squatch tires. I have measured out what the poke would look like with both of these offsets. Does anyone know if the extra half inch in rim width would change anything about my measurements of what the poke would like? Maybe slightly less or more side wall buldge that I should account for in my measurement? Thanks.

Offset is measured from the center line of the wheel.

So if you have a 8.5" wheel with a -30 offset... the measurement from the mounting surface to the edge the wheel is ~5.43 inches.

If you have a 9" wheel with a -30 offset... that same measurement is ~5.68 inches.

So, +1 on a 9 inch rim will cause an additional 0.25 inch of outward tire poke (with 0.25 inch inward too) compared to the tire poke of +1 on an 8.5 inch rim?

Yes.

Well... technically it is 0.25 inches of wheel poke. How much the tire pokes out obviously depends on the tire. The tire usually extends beyond the edge of wheel.

Here's a 35x12.5x17 tire on a 17x9 wheel with -6 offset with the Sas flares/suspension. I would go with the +1 offset, the -12 would be an extra 1/4" of poke over this.

Thanks for the pics, that looks good. I am thinking I'll go with the +1

Wheel width has less effect than most realize when comparing offsets for poke.
Tire width and the amount of offset are the two biggest factors.
Tiresize.com doesn't even ask for the wheel width when it plots out the comparisons you input. I'll guess they are just assuming you are using a wheel approved for the size tire you input.

Here's stock squatch vs the +1 you mentioned.
