The difference in speed when you take off the mud flaps between the two options is small. The biggest thing imo would be an inconvenience needing to have an allen wrench in the car.Problem with that is taking them off when I go off road. Kinda defeats the purpose of getting quick-remove mud flaps.
I have had these for about 10k. Aside from the issues when they first released (which was fixed and fedex'd to me... great customer service from my experience), I still have my thumb screws.
I'd just throw some purple on your thumbscrews. You should be fine.
