Perhaps you misunderstand? 2-4 years is referring to the painted beauty rings, not the powder coated rims.

They are powder coated. Powder coating is a form of painting so you will see it referred to as painted wheels.

Hope this helps, but I did a rattle can “plastic dip” knock off brand from O”Rileys first week I got my Bronco and some pics below as I was going for blacked out look. It looked alright but I ended up buying some KMC wheels earlier this week and swapped out to get look I really wanted.

luckily the vinyl spray allowed me to peel off the paint and back to factory for the guy I then sold the OEM tires/wheels to, so that’s one advantage over powder coat to return to factory bright silver color.

looks good but would def come off against rocks (or curbs )

I agree not a fan of the silver Beauty ring and wish they did the Carbon Grey color for Sasquatch Badlands to match the grill?!

Powder coat them if you can find a place it'll do them reasonable. Powder coating will last a lifetime if you don't abuse them.

If it turns out down the road that you beat the hell out of your wheels and scratch them all up off-roading, then switch to paint.

Painting is reserved for surfaces that are constantly getting scratched so you can touch them up easily. If you're not squeezing your Bronco through rocks then you shouldn't be scratching up the rims too bad

I usually think aftermarket wheels are dumb looking but these look damn good. AND they are 25lbs!! I might have to get some…

I'm leaving mine stock, because I've never liked all black wheels. I might consider painting them Rapid Red though, to match the body color.

How do you scratch up a Sasquatch wheel on a curb? The tires are giant rim protectors. I think you would have to hit something more substantial than a curb to scratch the rim.
