I am estimating the sasquatch tires at 65 lbs each since they are C load. E load would probably be 80 lbs. I am not sure OPs rational, but there's no way that size tire weighs the same as a C load Badlands 33s. A 4 dr 2.7 BL SAS is 5,300 lbs, and the 4 dr 2.7 BL is probably only 100 lbs less (65-50 x 5) on tires, and some other miscellaneous stuff, putting the 4 dr 2.7 BL at 5,200. Which is why you could see why it's still locking stuff out on BnP. Without going too off topic, I'd wager a 2.7 BL non-sas weighs more than say a Wildtrak with sas. Steel bumper = ~110 vs 30; Bash Plate = ~60 vs 0; steel rear bumper = ~60 vs 20; Rock Rails = ~60 vs 30 steps Just guesses. But a badlands/black diamond have probably 230 lbs of armor. compared to other trims.

By way of comparison the GoodYear Duratrac in the same 315/70R17 size weigh 61 lbs. and are D rated. They are a great tire, but are not known to have the best sidewall durability.

...And think about it this way - if the tires weighed the same, then a 2.3 Badlands on 33s with 230 lbs of armor, and 152 lighter engine, would theoretically weigh the same or more as a wildtrak on 35s, yet BnP isnt suggesting payload issues for a 2.3 BL. There's got to be a material weight difference, and given the suspension is so similar, the weight differential must come from the sas tires weighing more than the 50 lb 33 k02s

I guess it would be "very good news" if you never take it off road. Otherwise, you want a thick, durable tire. C rated tires are already marginal. Pushing the limit wouldn't be a good thing if you're buying an off road vehicle with 35s.

Reducing even just a few pounds per wheel really can make a difference. It also matters where the weight is. For example 2 wheels exactly the same weight, but one is more rim and less tire will respond and handle better than the other with less rim and more tire.

But it sounds like for Off Road, heavy (thicker) and More Sidewall is the desired setup?

I read quite a bit about duratracs on the jeep forums. They seem to work great on road and off except for cutting sidewalls. I put load range D BFG KO2s in 34x10.5 on my wrangler. They're better highway tires that can do some dry offroad, but the factory load range C BFG KMs are better offroad and ride better on my 4400lb wrangler.

Duratracs are a premium work truck tire, not an off-road specific tire.

20`` rim is for mall crawller only because for airing down a tire the best is 16`` or 17 inch rim not enough rubber for prevent breaking rim on pothole with 20 inch rim.

Keep thinking that. I have 35” MT tires w/ 20” wheels on my f150 and my wife has 275/55/20 AT tires on her GC trailhawk. I guarantee you that my wife wheels her GC on more difficult trails than 98% of Bronco owners ever will and she’s had zero issues airing down. Not to mention my truck has seen 30-40 moderate to difficult trails throughout CO, AZ, UT and done great with zero issues airing down. Both vehicles get aired down to 18psi.

my jeep has 35” STT Pros MT tires w/ 15” wheels and of course yes, lots more rubber.

Her BL will stick with the 33” KO2s and run an aftermarket wheel.

One more reason to switch to Super Swampers when I hit the trails on mine. Thinking about 34s or 36s. Probably LTBs but maybe go with the SXs.

Tire Rack's weight accuracy is not good. KO2's 315-70-17 load range C 65lbs. KO2's 315-70-17 load range E 65lbs. These two tires do not weigh the same.

Falken wildpeaks are awesome tires, but are definitely obese.

Very true. Falken is heavier than Grabbers and Toyos which carry similar tread life. Although tread depth on some of the Falken AT3Ws are 19-20/32 compared to 14-17 in other brands...
