Seat belt issue but not covered under recall

Anyone have an issue with their seatbelt not retracting? I went to the dealer and was told it wasn't under the recall on my vehicle. I call bullshit.

DM me your VIN. Did they say why it wasn't covered? The only reason for denial would be physical damage or dirt water getting in.

Clean your seatbelt hinge thingy at the top. It gets gunked up with oils from hands and dirt from the trails or hands. Mine was not retracting, hit the belt with some iso alcohol and the hinge thingy, some big chunks of dirt fell out and its like new again.

My front passenger seat belt wouldn't release from retracted position after ~2 days of owning. Dealership did replace that under warranty (from a lot model! in may of '22 - I still appreciate that, Villa Ford of Anaheim!) when Ford wasn't able to get a replacement belt sent to them in a timely manner.

Had the exact same problem after a trip to Moab (where I had doors off a lot). The top hinge had all sorts of gunk along the roller part. Cleaned it with ipa and a little toothbrush/toothpick and they are good as new.

I had the same thing happen. Cleaned the belt with a damp cloth and used a blade from my feeler gauge to run above and below the belt in the hanger. I didn't see much come out, but working like it should again.
